I'm staying busy producing video
projects, training volunteers,
serving on the bus, keeping up with
office work, and more! Hoka hey!
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO DIE"Hoka hey!" If you spend a day
or two hanging around The ReliefBus staff, you are sure to hear thisphrase being tossed around. Whatdoes it mean? It is an Indian phrasemeaning "it's a good day to die." Webelieve every day is a good day to
die to ourselves and to live for
Christ.With the busy summer season
upon us, we will have plenty ofopportunities to live out this motto.Personally, I will be spending a lot oftime over the next few months withthe multitude of volunteers we havecoming to serve with us on TheRelief Bus. In addition to servingwith them on the bus, nearly everyThursday evening this summer I planto lead a group of volunteers intoPenn Station in NYC to engage with
people who live there by handingout flyers, sharing meals, and justmaking friends.
When I'm not busy doing
outreach, you can find me in myoffice buried under volunteerapplications and sticky notemessages! On the more excitingside, our fundraising banquet is jusaround the corner, and we havesome special video projects in theworks!
Every day is a new adventure, with unique opportunities andchallenges. The daily challenge forme is to remember that it is not I,but Christ in me; not my strength,
power, or wisdom, but His. Hokahey!
"Whoever wants to be my disciple must
deny themselves and take up their
cross daily and follow me." Luke 9:23b
