Team Managers Report

Thank you to the 22 Hills Lifesavers who competed at the Woronora carnival and what a well-run carnival it was, finishing by 12 noon. This was the carnival with fun events like paddle board, iron person and beach flags that we don’t usually do. A big thank you to our senior members, Keelan & Tom for all their help in the water. Woronora was most appreciative. Thank you to our club captains Sarah & Jordan for setting a good example competing in all events. Our new U/8s , Lucas & Nathan, enjoyed all their events with Nathan taking off like a rocket on the paddle board. Young Emilie gave us an exciting finish in her iron person race coming equal first. A big welcome to our other new members who competed for the first time: Elle, Jordyn, & Kempton. Well done to all our members. Remember everyone’s participation help us in the overall Pointscore. If you have any photos from the carnival that you are happy to go up on our facebook page, then please email them to me (in reduced size please). Our next interclub carnival is our very own Hills carnival on 5th February 2016. With only two carnivals to practise the pool events before competing at the state championships in March, please make every effort to attend to gain as much practise as possible. We expect every member to qualify to compete at the state champion-ships. We need you all! To qualify you need to compete at least 1 carnival. These carnivals give you an opportunity to practise both individual & relay events . APLSC 2017 – National competition at the Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre, 11-13th January. Swimmers competing at our National competition should be well and truly into their life saving training each Sunday morning as well as keeping up with their swimming squads. Those competing for The Hills are expected to compete in all events (except Opens and older) as there is an aggregate score. If you are not on the state team, then please make sure you have contacted Melanie for details. Parents and friends – you are needed as officials on pool deck throughout the competi-tion even if you are untrained. Timekeepers, runners, etc are always needed. Benefits are pool entry, T-shirt, lunches, drinks etc as well helping your children. Please contact me if interested so I can forward more details to you.
