DESCRIPTION

What happens during condensation? Does only Earth experience condensation in the clouds? Why or why not? Condensation happens when water vapor turns back into water(or clouds). Condensation doesn’t only happen in the clouds because if a glass of ice water is outside in the heat, condensation can occur on the side of the glass.

What happens during condensation?Does only Earth experience condensation in the

clouds?Why or why not?

Condensation happens when water vapor turns back into water(or clouds).Condensation doesn’t only happen in the clouds because if a glass of ice water is outside in the heat, condensation can occur on the side of the glass.

Draw and label the Carbon Dioxide/ Oxygen

Cycle. Include producers and animals and add what would happen if we got more producers on animal in the ecosystem.

*If plants had overpopulation, then we would too much oxygen

in the air.*If we had too many

animals or pollution, then we would have too much carbon dioxide in the air.

Describe the difference between inherited traits vs. learned

behaviors. Give 5+ examples of each.

Inherited trait: physical features passed on from parent to offspring. ex: green eyes, brown hair, a fish has scales and a streamed body, a dalmatian has a spotted coat, Easter lilies has white flowers.Learned behavior: something that has to be taught. ex: speak different languages, how to read, talk, walk, ride a bike.

Define the following and give 2 examples.-producer-consumer

-decomposer-herbivores-carnivores-omnivores-scavenger

-niche

Scavenger: Animals that get energy from eating dead animals. Ex: turkey vultures, opossum, cockroaches

Producer: An organism that receives most of its energy from the sun and makes its own food. Ex: trees, grass (plants)

Consumer: An organism that receives energy by eating other organisms. Ex: deer, wolves, bears, hawks, grasshoppers

Decomposer: living things that get energy by eating dead plants animals. Ex: bacteria, fungi

Herbivores: Animals that only eat plants and plant products. Ex: cow, sheep, rabbits, giraffe, horse

Carnivores: an animal that eats other animals. Ex: Lions, leopards, bobcats, foxes

Omnivores: An animals that eats both plants and animals. Ex: bears, skunk, raccoon

Niche: A job Ex: how plants produce oxygen, how bees collect honey

How are the teeth different of a herbivore vs. a carnivore? Can they decide one day to change

their diet? Why?

The teeth of a carnivore are strong and pointy to grasp prey, but herbivores teeth have cutting teeth in the front to bite off pieces of plant, and grinding teeth in the back to grind the food before swallowing. No, because they can’t just decide if they want to eat something else.

Put the following food chains in the correct order & identify the following organisms as: producer, consumer, predator, prey, or

scavenger.

Page 9: Life Science Review By:Morgan Stout. Draw and label the water cycle

List 4 different possibilities that would happen if one of the

organisms in your food chain from #7 died.

1. There would be over population of grass/seaweed.2. There would be less Polar Bears.3. There would be less Hawks.4. There would be less Vultures.

Define and list the similarities & differences between complete metamorphosis and incomplete metamorphosis.

--Be sure to draw an example of an animal’s metamorphosis each and label each stage.

Complete Incomplete*Egg

Describe the function/purpose of each plant part:

Seed, Flower, Leaf, Stem, Root.

Seed-Creates the plant.Flower-Absorbs the sunlight.Leaf-Take in C02,takes out 02, and creates photosynthesis.Stem-Support the plant, plants “plumbing system”, conduction water & nutrients.Roots-Absorb the water & minerals, give the plants nutrients, hold plant in.

Page 12: Life Science Review By:Morgan Stout. Draw and label the water cycle

Do all plants need the same amount of sunlight, water, &

nutrients in the soil? Explain with examples.

No, because if some plants get too much sunlight or water, they can die.

List the 3 ways seeds mainly travel. Include pros & cons for

seeds being able to travel.

1) By wind2) By water3) By animals

Pros*seeds/Drop,Crack,Role

Con*not Dense

Pros*water proof,float,roll

Con*chance of collateral contamination by fungus

Pros *sticky

*burs *barbs

Con*edible

List 4+ possibilities how plant population would decrease.1) pollution2) no food3) no H204) only H205) too much sunlight6) not enough sunlight

Choose an animal that lives in the desert and describe 3 adaptations (one must be it helps it survives in

its climate).

1) Long ears to keep cool in the heat.2) Fur covered feet for dealing with hot desert sands.3) Water intake for keeping cool when temperatures are soar.

Describe how a cactus adapts and its niches in its environment.

Adaptations-Spikes, succulent stem, thick waxy coating, long fibrous roots.Niche-Absorbs water for other animals.

pictures.Include plants, animals, amount of sunlight, & spacing.
