HEALTHY U - Diabetes

Are you or someone you know struggling with diabetes? The

HEALTHY U Chronic Disease Self Management Program for Diabetes

is proven to improve quality of life and save money by reducing health

care expenses. It’s FREE to adults of any age and/or their caregivers.

Help yourself regain control of your life and do the things that matter to

you. At the Diabetes Self—Management class, small groups meet

weekly for 6 weeks and learn ways to solve problems related to

Diabetes.

HEALTHY U was developed at Stanford University and has helped

hundreds of thousands of people improve their health and quality of life

over the past thirty years. Studies have shown that the program results in

significant, measurable improvements in movement, symptoms,

depression, fatigue, disability and activity limitations.

As one class member said, “the course exposed me to new ways of

thinking about myself and the medical problems that affected my life. It

gave me new strategies for keeping depression and pain at bay, ways to

relax my mind and body, and eye-opening ideas about exercise that I

could do. Through weekly action plans, I began to feel successful,

seeing in a positive light those things about which I had been hopeless

before. Instead of trying to fight/cure my chronic illnesses, I now realize

that I can do things to live better with them.”

Smart Driver Course—AARP

Since 1979, AARP Driver Safety has met the needs of older drivers

A lot has changed since many American drivers first got their driver’s li-

changed. Even the people behind the wheel have changed. As drivers, if

we don’t keep up with those changes, we put others or even ourselves at

risk.
