When light reflects off smooth, flat objects like a mirror it bounces in one direction, and you can see your picture.

When light reflects off rough objects it bounces in many directions, and you can see your reflection funny.

When object blocks light, it makes a shadow.

Is a dark area that light doesn’t reach.

You can make a shadow on the wall by blocking light with your hand.Some objects don’t block light, so they don’t make shadow.

How do we use light?Much of Earth’s light is from the sun.Living things need the energy from sunlight.Without the sun, Earth would be in darkness.Nothing would be able to live or grow here.
