We rise up early morn,

to beat the piling jam,

To catch the early bus,

to reach work in time,

We put in long hours,

in hope to secure the

coin,

We jostle each other,

to rise up the ladder,

Relations suffer strain,

in spirit of ambition,

Morals compromised,

in exchange of higher

seats,

We traverse distant

lands, for perceived

pastures green,

Our families back home,

in silence bear neglect,

We check-in home late,

exhausted and drained,

Our energy taken away,

by those unknown to us,

The little energy left, is

spent on phone and TV,

On bashes and retreats,

meetings and committees,

Strangers we become,

in homes we ought to

cherish,

We initiate divorce,

without going to court,

Our children are orphaned,

without physical death,

The more we get the coins,

the more we keep the

search,

Deep down we are empty,

A void we seek to fill,

Unfaithfulness leaks

through,

in such a subtle way,

We soon become expired,

and have to be laid off,

The harsh reality dawns,

the family matters more,

We remember the first

love, so long forgotten

Spouses long for moments,

shared during courtship,

Children long for moments,

shared during infancy,

The family is crying out,

for a little more attention.
