LED lighting offers signifi cant benefi ts over conventional incandescentand fl uorescent lights:

effi ciencyIncandescent and fl uorescent fi xtures can lose up to 50% of total light output from the bulb before it leaves the fi xture.

LEDs emit light in a specifi c direction and have less need for refl ectors and diffusers that can trap light. A well-designed LED solution delivers light more effi ciently to the intended location.

LongevityLEDs have no moving parts, no burning fi lament, no gases trapped in glass tubes. They’re solid state technology, vibration- and shock-resistant, and can last up to twice as long as linear fl uorescents. This dramatically reduces lighting management and maintenance. Task lights are replaced roughly every 3 years.

sustainabilityCompact fl ourescent lights, CLFs, require about 100 hours of use to reach full illumination; LEDs achieve full brightness immediately.

CFLs also contain small amounts of mercury, a health and safety hazard. Proper disposal of CFLS requires storing bulbs unbroken until they can be processed.

The LED personal task light was designed to illuminate and defi ne the personal work zone. • uses just 14 watts of energy, with a lifespan of 50,000 hours• offers a personal scale light that provides glare-free illumination over 12 square feet of worksurface • provides a continuous light array eliminating multiple shadows common with other LED fi xtures• fi ngertip touch switch and continuous dimming control (standard on Steelcase® LED lighting) • a light, linear aesthetic that creates an architectural gesture in the open plan• may contribute to LEED certifi cation

LED Personal Task Light mounts directly in the rail on c:scape®, FrameOne™, Elective Elements® 6, and SOTO™ rail. A desk mount option is available for other applications.

The LED Shelf Light is our most effi cient shelf light, using half the energy of our traditional T8 shelf lights. • uses just 11 watts of energy—our most effi cient shelf light—with an expected lifespan of 50,000 hours• distributes light evenly across the worksurface and eliminates dark corners in the back of the worksurface• continuous light array eliminates multiple shadows common with other LED fi xtures• fi ngertip touch switch and continuous dimming control (standard on Steelcase LED lighting) • power connects at the back for a discrete install and easier cord management • may contribute to LEED certifi cation
