The Institution has received an award from Khadi & Village Industries Commission as a "Best Village Industries Institution" for the period 1998-1999 to 2000-2001.

In 1999, the Mumbai City felicitated Smt.Rukminiben B.Pawar, Lijjat President, as an outstanding woman in the field of social work

AWARDS : On 6th September 2003, Jyoti Naik, President of SMGULP has received the Economic Times Award of "Businesswomen of the Year 2001-02 for Corporate Excellence". In January 2003 Lijjat received the award for 'Best Village Industries' at the hands of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee at New Delhi. In 2003, it also received the PHDCCI Brand Equity Award 2005.
