MONTREAL BOTANIC GARDEN-LILAC':COLLECTION
The collection is part of Le Jardin botanique deMontreal, 4101 est, rue Sherbrooke, Montreal, Quebec,H1X 2B2. It is one of the oldest in the Garden, withfirst lilacs planted in 1937. Since that time manyspecies, varieties and cultivars were acquired.
It is a public collection open from sunrise tosunset. Peak of bloom for the majority of lilacs isexpected from May 20 up to the beginning of June. Forfurther information write to Normand Cornel1ier, Jardinbotanique de Montreal, 4101 est, rue Sherbrooke,Montreal, Quebec, HIX 2B2.

SYRINGA (LILAC) COLLECTION 1984
bickelhauptarboretum
The Arboretum Lilac Collection was started in 1975,located directly north of the Education Center, in a70 by 300-foot garden, in sections lB, lC & 10. Theplants are pruned to eight feet in height where theirbloom can be most appreciated. In 1983, this Collectionof 48 species and cultivars was honored with the Inter-national Lilac Society President's Award for "A selectcollection of outstanding lilacs for public educationand viewing."
