SUMMER TIME

Makes approx. 1.5 liters

Summertime means one thing: cool refresh-ing drinks to sip on! We’ve taken a spin on the classic lemonade and added fresh watermelon juice for a fun pink twist.

TIP: For a beautiful summertime look, we froze little flowers in our ice cubes. A simple pretty detail sure to impress!

1 watermelon200 ml freshly squeezed lemon juice (ap-prox. 6 lemons)150g sugarwaterbubbly water (with gas)

Cut up the watermelon, removing the rind. Juice it by either running it through a juicer or pureeing in the blender and then pour-ing it through a sieve to remove any pulp or seeds. Set aside.Make a simple syrup of .5 liter of water and 150g sugar. Dissolve the sugar in the water on the stove over medium heat. Let cool.Juice the lemons (can be done by hand).Pour the watermelon juice, lemon juice and sugar mixture into a large pitcher. Chill. Serve with freshly sliced lemons, ice cubes and a bit of bubbly water for a sassy finish!

Melt the chocolate.Cut the bananas into 12 equal pieces.Pour the sprinkles in a bowl. Dip the bananas in the melted chocolate and then gently coat them in sprinkles. Place on a baking sheet or plate covered with parch-ment paper.

Chill the chocolate coated bananas until the chocolate is hardened.Whip the cream until light and flu"y. Top o" the bananas with the whipped cream and a cherry or jelly bean.Store in refrigerator until ready to eat.

NOTE: This recipe is best made just be-fore you are ready to serve, as the bananas may brown a bit after they are peeled.

FOOD

Makes 24 small squares

These little crispy, chewy treats are is so easy and so fast, you won’t believe it! We’ve decorated them with an extra touch of swirled white chocolate topping – beautifully sweet!

55 g butter300g large marshmallows200g crisp rice cereal (f.ex. Rice Krispies)300g white chocolatefood coloring of your choice

Generously grease a baking dish (ca. 20x30cm) with butter. In a large saucepan, slowly melt the butter on low heat. Add the marshmellows and stir constantly until completely melted. Remove from heat. Quickly add the rice cereal to the melted marshmellow mixture and stir until the cereal is well coated. (Be careful, the marshmellow mixture will be hot)

Transfer mixture to the prepared bak-ing pan. Using your hands and a piece of parchment paper (when warm, the marshmallow mixture will be quite sticky), press the mixture evenly down into the pan to make the mixture more dense and tightly packed in the pan.Let cool completely for 30-45 minutes. Melt the white chocolate. Take about 1/3 of the melted chocolate and put it in another bowl. Add a few drops of your favorite coloring and mix well.Spread the white melted chocolate over the treats. Then scoop spoonfuls of the colored chocolate randomly on the top. Run a knife back and forth through all the white and colored chocolate to create a pretty swirled pattern. Let cool completely until the chocolate topping is hardened. Cut into small squares or cut out with a round cookie cutter and enjoy!

FOOD

Makes two round cake layers (ca. 20-23 cm) or 24 cupcakes

This is a perfect cake for you to use as a base for any of your favorite cake decorating plans, whether it’s a fancy layered birthday cake, cute decorated cupcakes or simply sharing it plain and simple as we’ve done here.

235 ml whole milk3 large eggs2 teaspoons vanilla extract170 g unsalted butter, room temperature and cut into pieces300 g all-purpose flour, sifted 300 g sugar 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon baking powder$ teaspoon salt

Preheat the oven to 175 C. Grease and flour the cake pans you wish to use. If making cupcakes, grease the muf-fin pans thoroughly or line pan with paper liners. In a medium bowl, lightly whisk together the eggs, 60 ml of the milk and the vanilla extract. Set aside. In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Mix on low speed until blended.

(If your mixer does not have a low speed, use a whisk and blend thoroughly.) Add the butter and remaining 175 ml milk to the dry ingredients. Mix on low until the ingredients are moistened. Increase the mixer speed to medium and beat for about 2 minutes. Be sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl if necessary.Gradually add the egg mixture and beat until thoroughly combined.Divide the batter evenly into the prepared pans. See baking times below. The cake is done baking when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool the cake for about 15 minutes, then turn out on a wire rack to cool completely.Frost or decorate as desired.

What is Hurra!: “Hurra is a platform curating a selection of Danish Art and Design objects. We wanted to share the Danish arena with people here in ! and around the world. It is not only an online platform – we’ll launch a pop up shop the last 3 months of 2013 – and later in 2014 a headquar-ter with gallery, boutique and workshop”

Why Danish art, design and culture?“ We felt a need for a wider attempt at promoting the special Danish art, culture and design nerve here in ! – to connect cutting edge products, designers and artist that we believe in with !: An epicenter for creativity here in USA. Danish art and design products is known for being highly functional, fairly

minimalist, with clean simple lines but we want to show them that there is more… We found that this tradition and the current trends in Scandinavia has a momentum in USA right now – for example our social model, innovation, food, TV-series – the good life and the good taste. Initiatives of exporting cultural products and services has primary focused

on New York and Washington D.C. We wondered why ! only rhimes with the Danish music and film industry – when design, architecture and art has such a great potential here? The US#West Coast has been left out. And we have a passion and then the HURRA! project was born”

Why did you decide to create HURRA! together?“We are very good friends and have both lived outside of Denmark for over a decade. We both have a passion for cutting edge Danish art, design, culture and not to forget the food. HURRA! was a natural outcome of that.”
