Position Summary The communication & marketing intern will be responsible for the Residence Life image and marketing efforts, as well as developing a plan for and implementing the management of various marketing media. Additionally, the communication & marketing intern will help with special projects in the main office. This position may require some evening and weekend hours. Responsibilities Update and maintain the Office of Residence Life newsletter and social media Research other university Residence Life programs and make suggestions for best practices Discover creative ways to increase awareness of Residence Life Create and distribute various print marketing materials Meet with student groups as needed to present marketing information and promote events Create materials that encourage student involvement Take pictures/videos at RA trainings, In-Services, and other departmental programs Participate in coverage of the Residence Life office

Qualifications and Conditions of Employment Must be enrolled as a full-time student during the period of employment Must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 before and during

employment No active judicial infractions Sophomore or above status

Expectations Prior experience or interest in campus involvement, organization management and leadership Computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, OrgSync) considered a strong asset Strong organizational skills, interpersonal abilities, and oral and written communication
