8th Grade Knights

With 9th grade just around the corner (it’s coming sooner than you think), our

8th grade teaching team has come up will

several strategies to help make the tran-

sition from middle school to high school smoother. Lance Carl, a motivational

speaker, visited on the 8th grade in April

to share his life story and help motivate our students in preparation for the transi-

tion. Our grading policies, specifically

our homework and grading policies will change for the final quarter. We are col-

laborating with the Poudre teachers to

ensure consistency, so expect to receive

an update from your student’s respective teachers soon.

As far as in the classroom…

In US History, we have been studying

the journey of discovery undertaken by Lewis and Clark. Students have been

using primary source documents to fol-

low the adventures of these brave men.

We are concluding this unit by conduct-ing a CSI (crime scene investigation) to

determine if Meriwether Lewis' death

was suicide or murder. Students will be examining evidence, witness testimony,

and secondary sources to reach their

conclusion. They will create a digital

presentation to report their findings.

Mr. Schrom's PE class recently com-

pleted a new unit that had never been tried before at Lincoln. The students

played a game with large scoops that

were used to throw and catch wiffle balls. This game challenged their hand-

eye coordination and strategic thinking.

Since it was an activity that most stu-dents had never attempted, different

teams came up with different strategies

for winning and improving their skills.

Additionally, since it was a game that Mr. Schrom had never really played, the

students had to be flexible with the nu-

merous rule changes that he made during the games.

Lincoln students also recently retook the PACER test, which is our primary fit-

ness assessment. Overall, roughly 70%

of our students showed gains in

their fitness level since they last took the test around Thanksgiving. Way to go

Lancers! It looks like we’re preparing

well for the VLC later this month.

With science and English teaming up for

our annual FortZED project, students should start to see a connection between

Newtonian physics and persuasive lan-

guage. Ms. Pabst, Mr. Mac’s student-

teacher, presented a unit in persuasive and research techniques that culminated

in a final essay and speech the week of

April 23-27. Students researched a con-

troversial topic of their choice.

8th graders planning on attending Poudre

High School will be visited PHS on

April 30th. They took part in an assem-

bly, shadowed a class with a high school student and closed with a small group

tour and Q&A with high school students

and staff. Students going to other high schools will also have an opportunity to

visit their respective schools in the last

part of the year.

6th Grade English

Students visited three senior residences: Parkwood, Rigden Farms, The Winslow,

and The Worthington, on April 20th for their service learning oral history project.

Students met with an elder in our community for some great discussion about how things change, how they stay the same, and life lessons. The students created stories

that share the wisdom these seniors have learned. We will keep a copy here at Lin-

coln and gave a copy to the seniors. This was a great day last year for the residents

and our students, and we were excited to be going back this year!

6th Grade Science Class

Students will soon be completing their Egg Protection Inventions

(EPI) as part of the Energy unit. Teams were challenged to work

together to formulate the best solution to meet the challenge of how to protect an egg dropped off of the roof of Lincoln? Each team

was given a limited set of materials to create a container that would

house the egg on its journey to destruction. They had to collaborate, research ideas, compile a presentation, create a design, and finally build their EPI. The next step is

for each group to give their computer-based presentation, then drop the eggs from

the roof and see which ones survive.

Math

Science 7th Grade Science is ending the chemistry unit. We will now be starting a new unit. We will be studying Genetics. Dur-ing this unit students will get a better understanding of themselves and others from a genetic point of view. Some of the lessons include doing DNA extraction from foods. We will also use microscopes to study cell division.

English Seventh grade English is surfing the web!! We are kicking off a unit on research skills. As part of this unit students will learn how to conduct advanced searches on the Internet, how to correctly cite online sources in papers, and how to synthesize information without plagiarizing. The unit will culminate with each student producing a research paper and presenting their findings to their peers in an oral pres-entation.

Social Studies In geography, students have been studying the different regions in Asia. We just began our East Asia unit, where we will primarily be focusing on Japan and China. In this unit, students will be looking at the relationship between hu-mans and their environments. We will answer the following questions: 1) How have the people of China influenced their environment? And 2) How has the environment of Japan influenced its people?

Forty-Eighth Annual Celebration of Poudre School District Excellence and Success

Our 8th Grade Team is proud to announce this year’s recipient of the Masonic

Award, Kaili Schroeder. Students are chosen for Academic Performance, Citizen-ship and Stewardship, Personality and Character and Leadership. Russell Mason of

the Fort Collins Masonic Public Schools Recognition Night Committee reminds us

that as parents and teachers, we all strive to develop such qualities in our students. When we find them strongly displayed, even in one category, much less across sev-

eral of the suggested criteria, we know we have an outstanding individual worthy of

recognition and support. We are honored to have Kaili represent Lincoln this school-year.

Not only is Kaili an exceptional student, but also, she is a tremendously skilled ath-

lete and compassionate human being. She writes brilliantly, works tremendously and actively advocates for her learning. Kaili goes above and beyond in class, seeks

and accepts feedback voraciously, asks thoughtful questions and truly enjoys the

process of gaining knowledge. She goes above and beyond to increase her skills in varsity volleyball, basketball and participates in high level soccer outside of Lin-

coln. She is kindhearted towards all groups of people, is accepting of all back-

grounds and easily moves between age-groups of people. If there were a scale of 1-

4, she’d score a 6. We all agree—clone her!

Athletics Wellness

Boys Basketball Our 7th grade boys had the best record of any basketball season in the last 5+ years. They worked hard and fin-ished 4-4. If they work hard this summer, who knows what they’ll be able to accomplish next year. Lincoln Lancer wrestling State results - the boys all wrestled well this past weekend at Colorado Middle School State wrestling. I could have not ask for more, the boys all had tuff matches this weekend, as the futher we go in the tourney, the matches get more competive. I'm proud of the way they all wrestled, they gave it all they had, never quited wrestled hard , smart, and aggressive! VLC! is a fundraiser to promote fitness, involve

all Lincoln students and their families, and have

fun while doing it. Our goal was to raise $10,000

to support educating the whole child at Lincoln.

Teams of 4-8 members raised pledges and walked

or ran Saturday at Lincoln. Lunch and t-shirts

were provided to all participants. Music and

games entertained families that attended or partici-

pated.

To prepare for this event, Lincoln students trained

at lunches by running or walking quarter-mile

laps. For each lap, the student earned a ticket for

weekly prize drawings. Prizes include footballs,

basketballs, Lincoln wear, Frisbees, gift cards, and

a signed football by Eric Decker!

In the first week, Lincoln students walked or ran

over 200 miles! 6th grade = 266 laps = 66.5 miles 7th grade = 370 laps = 92.5 miles 8th grade = 276 laps = 69 miles

Great job Lancers!

Spring is here! As the warm weather arrives,

please remind your child of the following dress

code and behavior expectations:

Clothes must cover the torso and fall comforta-

bly to the belt line.

Shirts must cover the shoulders.

Shorts and skirts must fall past the student’s

fingers.

Undergarments must be covered.

Backpacks, purses, and bags are to be left in

lockers during the school day. Horseplay including wrestling or pushing will re-

sult in a referral to the office.

Thank you for ensuring that your child dresses and

acts in a manner that promotes a focus on learning

as he or she leaves the house. Enjoy this beautiful

time of year!


The PSD middle school wrestling regular season consists of 8 dual

matches between the 9 district middle

schools. This season allows for wrestlers

in each of the 16 weight classes to accu-mulate points and establish a seeding for

the all-inclusive district tournament in

December. The Lincoln Lancers fin-ished this year’s regular season with a

record of 2 and 6, which made them a

heavy underdog going into the tourna-ment on December 10th, a position

coach Rich Wilson relishes. “Many of

our kids are wrestling for the first time

in 7th grade, and we remind them fre-quently that the regular season is a

chance to improve their technique in

competition and build their bodies in preparation for the district tournament.

Wrestling teaches our boys a valuable

life lesson in that we often learn more from our defeats than we do from our

victories. There is nothing more gratify-

ing as a coach than watching one of our

kids win a match against a wrestler who defeated him during the regular season.

I think that’s what made this year’s tour-

nament so special.” Lincoln brought 14 wrestlers to the

tournament on December 10th and after

winning 12 of their first 14 matches, the

Lancers were on the top of the district

leader board. Five wrestlers won their second round matches qualifying for a

chance to wrestle for the district cham-

pionship in their perspective weight

classes. A total of 9 qualified for the championship round. On an unfortunate

note, Antonio Zamora, favored to win

the 126 lb. weight class, broke his collar bone and could not continue beyond the

second round. Noah Oqueli placed 3rd at

75 lbs. Alexis Duarte placed 4th at 80 lbs. David Bekkedahl took 3rd at 85.

Adam Oqueli placed 2nd at 90 lbs. Louis

Febvre placed 2nd at 120. Damon Ortiz

placed 2nd at 138. Salem Abulobaida placed 2nd at 145. Alan Diaz took 4th at

167, and Jesus Lopez finished 2nd at

heavy weight. As a team, Lincoln took 2nd place with a total of 131 points. Con-

gratulations to the 32 boys who partici-

pated and represented our school so

well!

“8th Grade Basketball Provides Fans with Thrill

in Post Season”

After a very competitive 4 and 4 7th grade season, this year’s 8th grade boys’ basketball team felt they could compete for a district

championship. Early in the season, however, things were not go-

ing as planned. With three starters missing from last year’s squad, Lincoln found itself 0 and 4 after the first 4 games. Assistant

coach Doug Gibbs said, “The boys were pretty disappointed

about the way we started. We reminded them that life doesn’t always go as planned, and we began to focus on becoming the best team we could before the

district tournament. To their credit, the boys never complained or blamed each

other. If anything, they bonded and began to embrace the role of the underdog.”

Entering the district tournament, the Lancers were 3 and 5 with victories over

Blevins, Webber, and Wellington. As the 6th seed in the tournament, they would

have to travel to rival and district 3 seed Lesher, a team that defeated them handily during the regular season. The stands were packed with Lincoln faithful and the

Lancers broke out to an early lead taking a 7 point advantage into halftime. The

action was fast and furious in the second half, and Lesher trimmed the Lincoln lead to just 1 point with 1 minute remaining. With just 20 seconds left, Carlos No-

gal rebounded an Anthony Rafaeli miss and added a layup to give Lincoln a 3

point lead. Lesher in-bounded the ball for one final shot to chants of “Let’s go

Lincoln!” Mason Arndt stripped the ball and cruised in for a layup at the buzzer

guaranteeing the Lancer victory.

Lincoln Middle School is very proud of this year’s team for their efforts in the

classroom and on the court. Coach Wilson said, “This is a special group of young

men, and I’m proud that they’ll represent Lincoln as they move on to Poudre and Fort Collins High Schools.” Best of luck to Alan Diaz, Alan Estrada, Anthony

Raffaeli, Carlos Nogal, Casey Stein, Gabe Carter, Jesus Lopez, Mason Arndt, Matt

Cecil, Moises Gaytan, Nick Scmidt, and Salem Abolabaida. Special thanks to

Grado

Con el 9o grado a la vuelta de la esquina (está mas cerca de lo que piensan),

nuestro equipo de maestros de 8o grado

está desarrollando estrategias para ayu-

dar a que la transición de secundaria a preparatoria sea mas fácil. Lance Carl,

un orador motivacional, vino a visitar al

octavo grado en abril para compartir la historia de su vida y ayudar a motivar a

los estudiantes a prepararse para el cam-

bio. Nuestras políticas de calificar, es-pecíficamente en cuanto a tareas cam-

biará para el trimestre final. Estamos

colaborando con los maestros de Poudre

para asegurar la consistencia, por lo que esperen recibir pronto una actualización

de los respectivos maestros de su estudi-

En la clase de Historia de US, hemos

estado estudiando el viaje de descu-brimiento realizado por Lewis y Clark.

mentos de fuentes primarias para seguir

las aventuras de estos valientes hombres. Estaremos terminando esta unidad haci-

endo una investigación de la escena del

crimen (CSI) para determinar si la muerte de Meriwether Lewis' fue un sui-

cidio o un asesinato. Los estudiantes

examinaran la evidencia, testimonios de

testigos y fuentes secundarias para llegar a una conclusión. Crearán una pre-

unidad nueva que nunca se había en-senado antes en Lincoln. Los estudiantes

jugaron un juego con cucharones

grandes que fueron usados para tirar y

cachar pelotas. Este juego desafió su coordinación mano-ojo y pensamiento

estratégico. Como esta fue una actividad

que la mayoría de los estudiantes nunca habían hecho, diferentes equipos sa-

lieron con estrategias diferentes para

ganar y mejorar sus habilidades. Adi-

cionalmente, como fue un juego que el Sr. Schrom nunca había jugado, los

estudiantes tuvieron que ser muy flexi-

bles con todos los cambios en las reglas que se hacían durante los juegos.

Los estudiantes de Lincoln reciente-

mente retomaron el examen PACER, el cual es nuestro principal examen físico.

En general, aproximadamente el 70%

de nuestros estudiantes mostraron cre-

cimiento en sus niveles desde que toma-ron el ultimo examen antes del Día de

dar Gracias. ¡Muy bien! Parece que nos

preparando muy bien para el Carnaval Viva Lincoln que se llevo a cabo al final

de abril.

Con Ciencia e Ingles unidos para nuestro proyecto anual FortZED, los

estudiantes deberán empezar a ver con-

exiones entre física de Newton y len-

guaje persuasivo. La Srita. Pabst, practi-cante de maestro de la clase del Sr. Mac,

esta presentando actualmente una unidad

en técnicas de persuasión e investigación que culmino con un ensayo final y un

discurso la semana del 23-27 de abril.

Los estudiantes han estado investigando

un tema controversial de su elección. Los estudiantes de 8o grado que

planean asistir Poudre High School, visi-

taron esta escuela el 30 de abril. Ellos estuvieron presentes en la asamblea, es-

tuvieron en una clase con estudiantes del

high school y hicieron un paseo por la escuela en grupos pequeños donde pu-

dieron hacer preguntas a estudiantes y

empleados de la escuela. Los estudi-

antes que irán a otras preparatorias también tendrán la oportunidad de visi-

tarlas antes de terminar el año escolar.

Ingles de 6o Grado

Los estudiantes del 6o grado de Ingles visitaron tres residencias de ancianos: Park-

wood, Rigden Farms, The Winslow y The Worthington, el 20 de abril, para el proyecto de historia oral y el servicio de aprendizaje. Los estudiantes conocieron

adultos de la tercera edad en nuestra comunidad para discutir sobre como las cosas

han cambiado, como otras siguen siendo lo mismo y lecciones de vida. Los estudi-antes crearon historias que compartieron la sabiduría que estos adultos han apren-

dido. Tendremos una copia aquí en Lincoln y les daremos otra a ellos. Fue un gran

día para nuestros estudiantes y los ancianos el año pasado y estabamos muy emocio-

nados de poder regresar este año.

Clase de Ciencia de 6o Grado

Los estudiantes pronto completaran sus inventos de protección de

huevos (EPI) como parte de una unidad de energía. Los equipos se enfrentaran al reto de trabajar juntos para formular la mejor

solución para afrontar el reto de trabajar en ¿como proteger un

huevo caído del techo de Lincoln? Cada equipo obtuvo materiales limitados para crear un contenedor que podría ser usado como el albergue del huevo

en su camino a la destrucción. Ellos tendrán que colaborar, investigar, hacer una pre-

sentación, crear un diseño y finalmente construir su EPI. El siguiente paso es que

cada grupo de su presentación basada en computadora, luego aventar los huevos

desde el techo y ver cuales sobreviven.

Matemáti-

Ciencia El 7o Grado de Ciencia esta terminando su unidad de Química. Estaremos empezando la nueva unidad de Genética. Durante esta

unidad los estudiantes tendrán un mejor entendimiento de ellos mis-

mos y de otros desde un punto de vista genético. Algunas de las

lecciones incluyen hacer la extracción de AND de comidas. Usare-

mos microscopios para estudiar la división de las células.

Ingles La clase de Ingles de séptimo grado esta navegando por internet. Estamos dando inicio a una unidad en habilidades de investigación.

Como parte de esta unidad, los estudiantes aprenderán como hacer

búsquedas avanzadas en el internet, como citar correctamente las

fuentes en los papeles y como sintetizar la información sin plagiar. La unidad culminara con cada estudiante produciendo su propia in-

vestigación y mostrando las conclusiones a sus compañeros en una

presentación oral.

En Geografía, los estudiantes han estado estudiando las diferentes regiones de Asia. Acabamos de empezar nuestra unidad del Este de

Asia, donde nos estaremos enfocando principalmente en Japón y

China. En esta unidad, los estudiantes estarán buscando la relación

entre los humanos y su medio ambiente. Estaremos respondiendo a las siguientes preguntas: 1)¿Cómo la gente de China influenció su

medio ambiente? Y, 2)¿Como el medio ambiente de Japón influen-

cio a su gente?

Nuestro equipo de 8o Grado esta orgulloso de anunciar a la ganadora del Premio

Masónico de este año, Kaili Schroeder. Los estudiantes son escogidos por el De-sempeño Académico, Ciudadanía y Administración, Personalidad y Carácter de Lid-

erazgo. Russell Mason del Comité de Reconocimientos de las Escuelas Publicas

Masónicas de Fort Collins nos recuerda a padres y maestros que todos nos esfor-zamos para desarrollar cualidades de este tipo en nuestros estudiantes. Cuando nos

encontramos con ellos en pantalla, aunque sea en una categoría y mucho menos a

través de varios de los criterios propuestos, sabemos que tenemos un individuo ex-

cepcional que merece ser reconocido y apoyado. Estamos muy honrados en tener a Kaili representando a Lincoln este año escolar.

Kaili no solo es una estudiante excepcional, también es una atleta tremendamente hábil y un ser humano compasivo. Escribe muy bien, trabaja duro y aboca acti-

vamente por su aprendizaje. Kaili va mas allá de las clases, busca y acepta retroali-

mentación con voracidad, hace preguntas sustanciosas y disfruta el proceso de ad-quisición de conocimientos. Va más allá de mejorar sus habilidades en los equipos

de volibol y basquetbol y participa en futbol fuera de la escuela. Ella es bondadosa

con todos los grupos, acepta todos los orígenes y se mueve fácilmente entre grupos

de todas las edades. Si hubiera una escala del 1-4, ella estaría en 6. Todos estamos

de acuerdo - ¡Vamos a clonarla!

La temporada regular de Lucha entre las escuelas secundarias de PSD con-

siste de 8 encuentros dobles entre las 9

escuelas secundarias del distrito. Esta

temporada permite que cada uno de los luchadores de las 16 categorías de peso

acumulara puntos y establecieran una

siembra para el torneo de todo el distrito en diciembre. Los estudiantes de Lin-

coln terminaron esta temporada regular

con un record de 2 y 6, lo cual lo hizo entrar muy fuertes en el torneo del 10 de

diciembre, una posición que el en-

trenador Rich Wilson disfruta. “Muchos

de nuestros estudiantes lucharon por primera vez en 7o grado y les recorda-

mos frecuentemente que la temporada

regular es una oportunidad para mejorar su técnica en competencia y entrenar su

cuerpo en preparación para l torneo del

distrito. La Lucha enseña a nuestros muchachos una lección valiosa de vida,

en la que a menudo aprenden más de

nuestras derrotas que de nuestras victo-

rias. No hay nada mas gratificante como entrenador que ver a uno de nuestros

luchadores ganar un a pelea contra uno

que había perdido en la temporada regu-lar. Pienso que eso es los que hace que

el torneo de este año sea tan especial.”

Lincoln llevo 14 luchadores al torneo

del 10 de diciembre y después de ganar 12 de sus 14 peleas, los estudiantes estu-

vieron de lideres en la cima de de la

tabla del Distrito. Cinco luchadores ga-

naron su segunda pelea, calificando para una oportunidad de pelear por el campe-

onato del Distrito en su respectiva cate-

goría de peso. Un total de 9 calificaron

para la ronda del campeonato. En una nota desafortunada, Antonio Zamora,

favorito para ganar la categoría de las

126 lbs. Se rompió la clavícula y no pudo seguir más allá de la segunda

ronda. Noah Oqueli colocado en 3o en

las 75 lbs. Alexis Duarte en 4o en las 80 lbs. David Bekkedahl tomo el 3o en 85

lbs. Adam Oqueli en 2o en las 90 lbs.

Louis Febvre 2o en 120 lbs. Damon

Ortiz en 2o en 138 lbs. Salem Abulo-baida en 2o en las 145 lbs. Alan Diaz

quedo en 4o en 167 lbs. Y Jesús Lopez

termino en 2o en el peso pesado. Como equipo, Lincoln quedo en 2o lugar con

un total de 131 puntos. Felicitaciones a

los 32 estudiantes que participaron y

representaron tan bien a nuestra escuela.

“El Basquetbol de 8o

Grado Ofrece a los Fanáti-

cos Emociones en la Post Temporada”

Después de una temporada de 7o grado muy competitiva con un record de 4 y 4, este año los muchachos del 8o grado del equipo de

basquetbol sintieron que ellos podrían competir por el campeo-

nato del distrito. A principios de la temporada, las cosas no iban saliendo según lo previsto. Con tres titulares ausentes del equipo

del año pasado, Lincoln se coloco en 0 y 4 después de los

primeros 4 juegos. El entrenador asistente Doug Gibbs dijo, “Los muchachos estaban bastante decepcionados acerca de la manera como empezaron.

Pero les recordamos que la vida no siempre va como se planea y empezamos a

enfocarnos en ser un mejor equipo antes del torneo del distrito. Los muchachos

nunca se quejaron o culparon a otros. En todo caso, ellos se enlazaron y comen-zaron a comprender el papel de estar abajo en la tabla.”

Entrando al torneo del distrito estuvieron 3 y 5, con victorias sobre Blevins, Webber y Wellington. Como el 6o lugar en el torneo, tuvieron que viajar y enfren-

tar a su rival Lesher y ubicado en 3er lugar, un equipo que les había ganado muy

fácil durante la temporada regular. Las gradas estaban repletas de seguidores de Lincoln y los estudiantes tomaron una temprana ventaja de 7 puntos al medio

tiempo. La acción fue rápida y furiosa en la segunda mitad y Lesher acorto la ven-

taja de Lincoln a solo 1 punto quedando solo 1 minuto. Con solo 20 segundos en

el reloj, Carlos Nogal recupero una pelota que había perdido Anthony Rafaeli y anoto dándole a Lincoln una ventaja de 3 puntos. Lesher limitado con el balón

tuvo su tiro final en medio de gritos de “vamos Lincoln!” Mason Arndt tomo la

pelota y cruzo la cancha mientras se anunciaba la victoria de Lincoln.

La Escuela Secundaria Lincoln esta muy orgullosa este año de su equipo por sus

esfuerzos en las clases y en la cancha. El entrenador Wilson dijo, “Este es un

grupo especial de jovenes y estoy muy ogulloso de que representaran a Lincoln cuando ellos vayan a las preparatorias Poudre y Fort Collins High Schools.” La

mejor de las suertes a Alan Diaz, Alan Estrada, Anthony Raffaeli, Carlos Nogal,

Casey Stein, Gabe Carter, Jesus Lopez, Mason Arndt, Matt Cecil, Moises Gaytan, Nick Scmidt y Salem Abolabaida. Un agradecimiento especial a las directoras de

equipo Addie Germaine, Alexis Kilgore, Ceceilia Berkner y Sam Baran.

Atleticos Salud y Bienestar

Basquetbol Varonil Nuestros muchachos de 7o grado tuvieron su mejor record

de cualquier temporada de basquetbol en mas de 5 años.

Ellos trabajaron muy duro y terminaron con un record de

4-4. Si ellos entrenan este verano, quien sabe lo que puedan

lograr el próximo año.

Luchas en Lincoln (wrestling) Resultados Estatales – A los estudiantes que lucharon bien

este pasado fin de semana en el Torneo Estatal de Luchas.

No les pudo pedir mas, todos tuvieron peleas muy difíciles

este fin de semana, entre mas lejos lleguemos, las peleas

serán mas competitivas. Estoy muy orgulloso de que todos

lucharon, dieron todo lo que tenían, nunca dejaron de pe-

lear duro, inteligente y agresivo! Blayke Roth- peleo en la categoría regional de las 70lbs,

quedando, 8o, Estatal 2-2

Bryson Mosal- peleo en la categoría regional de las 90lbs,

VLC! Es un evento para recaudar fondos y pro-

mover la salud y el bienestar, involucre a todos

los estudiantes de Lincoln y sus familias, donde

todos se divertirán. Nuestro objetivo es recaudar

$10,000 para apoyar la educación de todos los

estudiantes de Lincoln.

Equipos de 4-8 miembros caminaron y/o corre-

ron el sabado 28 en Lincoln. Almuerzo y camise-

tas fueron provehidas a los participantes. Hubo

musica y juegos para las familias que asistieron o

participaron.

Para prepararse para este evento, los estudiantes

de Lincoln estaban entrenando durante los al-

muerzos, corriendo o caminando vueltas de un

cuarto de milla. Por cada vuelta, los estudiantes

ganan un boleto para entrar en una rifa semanal.

Los premios incluyen balones de futbol,

basquetbol, ropa de Lincoln, Frisbees, tarjetas

de regalo y un balon autografiadp por Eric

Decker!

En la primer semana, los estudiantes de Lincoln

caminaron o corrieron mas de 200 millas!

6o grado = 266 vueltas = 66.5 millas

7o grado = 370 vueltas = 92.5 millas 8o grado = 276 vueltas = 69 millas

La primavera llego! Como el clima ha cambiado, por favor recuérdele a su estudiante el código de

vestir y las expectativas de comportamiento:

La ropa debe cubrir el torso y la línea del es-

tomago.

Las camisetas/blusas deben cubrir los hombros.

Los shorts y las faldas deben llegar hasta abajo

de donde lleguen los dedos de las manos al lado de

las piernas.

La ropa interior debe estar totalmente cubierta.

Mochilas, bolsas de mano y bolsas deben dejar-

las en los lockers durante el día escolar.

No se permite jugar rudo, luchando, empujando

puede resultar en una llamada a la oficina.

Gracias por asegurarse de que su estudiante se vista y actúa de una manera que promueva un enfoque en

el aprendizaje cuando dejen su casa en las mañanas.
