Dear Parents,

Welcome back. Semester two is always a busy, exciting time for our students so please

keep an eye out for any notes that are sent home. A copy is always placed on our website

if you wish to check that you have the latest information.

This term, we welcome back Mrs Seymour from leave. Mr Williams will return to his

other roles in the school. Currently Mrs Sernig is on leave and Ms Crehan is replacing

her. Mrs Tome is undertaking the role of Assistant Principal for K-2.

Planning has commenced for 2014 and we ask that if you have a child starting

Kindergarten next year that you complete an enrolment form as soon as possible.

This will ensure that your child has a very positive start to 2014.

Work has finally been completed on our upgraded canteen facilities. The fit out will

certainly provide a better work area for our hard working canteen volunteers. The canteen

is now functioning as usual.

The primary COLA artwork is almost finished thanks to Mrs Guy and Mr Lockhead.

Painting work is also continuing on the inside areas of the school. This work will

continue throughout the school over the next four months and will certainly freshen up a

number of our learning spaces.

A Term 3 planner is attached to this newsletter. If you have any questions about this,

please see your child’s teacher. The dates are all on our website and will be updated on a

regular basis.

When arriving at school in the morning and leaving in the afternoon, please use the footpaths provided. DO NOT WALK ON THE DRIVEWAYS OR THROUGH THE CARPARKS. THIS

IS VERY DANGEROUS.

Recently we have had children walking across the carparks, in-between cars and straight in front of cars as staff members are trying to park. We have also had children playing games where they intentionally race to beat cars or walk straight at car doors as staff are trying to exit their cars. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND SILLY BEHAVIOUR AND NEEDS TO STOP. Please speak to your children about this to ensure that they are safe at school.

We have some wonderful

people in our school

community. Mr. & Mrs. Riggs

(parents of Annabel in

kindergarten) spent the school

holidays helping to re-build a

school in the Solomon Islands!

In August the P&C Auxiliary will be holding a Spell-A-Thon. This is a fantastic fundraiser for the school and the kids love it too.

Funds raised in the Spell-A-Thon are invested back into the classrooms to buy essential resources for learning. A percentage of the

funds will also be donated to the KidzWish Christmas Party.

A pizza and ice-cream lunch will be awarded to the class who raises the most funds from the Spell-A-Thon. Pledge sheets and

detailed information will be handed out on August 1st, so stay tuned!
