Line follower is a machine that can follow a path. The path can be visible like a Black line on a white surface.

In smarter versions of Line Followers, The path can be invisible like a magnetic field.

Description

Chassis , Castor wheels , Atmega328P Microcontroller, Color Sensors, D.C. Motors, Connecting Wires, DC source.

Components Used

Line Follower

There are cases where smarter versions of line followers are used to deliver mail within an office building and deliver medications in a hospital.

The technology has been suggested for running buses and other mass transit systems, and may end up as part of autonomous cars navigating the freeway.

In a warehouse where the robots follow 'tracks' to and from the shelves they stock and retrieve from.

Automated cars running on roads with embedded magnets.

Technology

1- Circuits Designing-Movement Circuit ( motor’s control circuit )

Circuits Designing-Input Circuit ( Decision control circuit )

-Line sensing

We used strengthened paper to build the chassis of our Line Follower.

Both motor circuit and input circuit are assembled together, with the Arduino microcontroller, it works as the following :

1st configure the pins of Arduino

Code-language used : Arduino C

2nd configure sensors and analog read

Simply : we use 4 sensors : far left , left , right , far right
