worry, your teacher will help you.

Last night, I went to a party. I met this incredibly beautiful girl there. I asked her to dance slowly with me. We were having a lot of fun, but then suddenly at midnight, she left the party very quickly...



Congratulations! As you can see we use some adverbs with ‘-ly’ however others

adverbs we use without ‘-ly’. Check it now.

Adverbs with and without ‘-ly’: ‘carefully’, ‘fast’ 1.Na adverb adds to the meaning of a verb. Adverbs of manner tells us how something happens:How did John behave? – (He behaved) badly.

2.We form adverbs of manner by adding –ly to na adjective: slow/slowly.After a consonante, -y changes to –i: heavy/heavily.It was a slow train./The train went slowly. It was heavy rain./Itrained heavily.

3. We can use some words as adjectives or adverbs without adding –ly or –ily: It was a fast train/The train went fast.

Let’s pratice! Supply the right adverb. Some adverbs end in –ly and some do not. We will change adjective to

adverb.

Note:Stative Verbs are different from Dynamic Verbs.

But well is also an adjective ( = not ill, in

good health):‘How are you?’

‘I’m very well, thank you.’
