MAIN ACTIVITIES

1. Analyze Legal issues dealing with the implementation of

EIO in MSs (highlighting obstacles and barriers still in

place) including data protection implications (WP2)

2. Developing a formal language and a tailored made

Application (EESP) for the exchangge of electronic

evidence by ICTS under EIO. (WP3)

Providing stakeholders with ‘ready for use’ information on EIO, E.E. and e-CODEX and Cross fertilization among

different stakeholders (WP4)

WP2 LEGAL ISSUES

1. (a) To investigate how the EIO is transposed and

implemented in national legislation in (selected) EU

Member States.; (b) To analyze which (legal and/or

operational) measures are required to establish successful

execution of EIO between Member States. D2.1, related

to the points (a) and (b), has been submitted

2. To analyze how EIO and MLA procedures interact; D2.2

related to the previous point is still pending

3. To examine how data protection implications in EIO and

MLA procedures are being handled and to identify legal

and/o r operation measures that need to be put in place

to ensure respect to data protection rights; D2.3 has been submitted

WP3 - MATCHING EVIDENCE INTO E-CODEX

Studying in depth and Integrating the formal language

(CASE) for representing and supporting the Electronic

Evidence Exchange process (CNR-IGSG); D3.1 has been submitted.

Developing of a workflow management application for

managing, importing and exporting evidence standard

packages (CETIC); D3.2 has been submitted.

Developing at least 2 scenarios for packing/unpacking

Evidence and transport it over e-CODEX (e-Codex core

team); D3.3 has been submitted.

Handling of Large File of Evidence; D3.4 is still pending.

Creating synergies with the e-Evidence, Exec and e-MLA

projects.

WP4: STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT

In relation to Workshop in Florence 25-26 September 2019, in conjunction with EXEC project together with the EC e-Evidence Project will meet the representatives of the Justice domain and Ministries of Justice (Public prosecutors, judges, LEAs and the experts working at the technical implementation of the EIO operational measures and tools.
