the Night Awaythe Night AwayTri-County Lions, Connie's Kitchen, and Andy'sJunction partnered for a very successful sock upApril 8.

With net proceeds for the Lions projects account ofmore than $800, the “fun-raiser” sported talentedimpersonators of Merle Haggard, Loretta Lynn, evenElvis, and others.

The cake walk was a huge success, both in thenumber of cakes available and the funds raised; thecostume contest was lots of fun.

Lions showed up in force, and there was lots oflaughter during the festivities.

At right is the winner of the best costume contest.

Both Lions Richard Russell and Ken Moffett showedup sporting aviator sunglasses. Lion Ray Valentine'shair was slicked back, and his “date” Brenda wasdelightfully in step with the evening's festivities.Pony tails were the “in” thing.

Elvis has left the building.

The Tri-County Lions Clubhas ordered new EyeglasssRecycling bozes from LionsClubs International.

According to LCI, theyshould be available beforethe end of the month.

Chilhowee School Road CleanedMembers of the Club participated in the regular highway litter pickupSaturday morning, April 16.

This project, a part of the Centennial Service Challenge Envrionmentalfocus, completes the Tri-County Lions' four CSC projects for 2015-2016! Thanks to Lions Peggy and Richard Russell and their grandson,Keith McCord, Bill Barnes, and Buddy Greene for participating in thisongoing community-improvement initiative.

Lions Serve “On My Own” Thanks to Lions Buddy Greene, and Richard and Peggy Russell for assisting with the April 22nd two morningsessions at Sevierville Middle School. On My Own is the youth Financial Educational Program of UTExtension and Sevier County 4-H. Tri-County Lions have been a part of these educational simulations formany years, serving hundreds of students.

The On My Own program is an interactive financial simulation designed for youth ages 13-18. During thesimulation, students become the major income provider for their household which may include a spouseand/or children. Using a hypothetical occupation and income, students work through a month of expensesincluding housing, utilities, transportation, insurance, food, child care, clothing, entertainment and otherexpenses resulting from unexpected events.

...Take Me Out to the Ballgame...The June picnic and ballgame is coming up in just a couple of months; please have funds to Lion ConnieEmmons during May to reserve your seat(s)! For 2016, Calhoun's at the Yard has expanded facilities, and the

event looks to be a winningcombination of great food,fellowship, and the Smokiesnine-inning vacation. Pleasefeel free to invite friends andneighbors, as well as anyprospective Club members!

Cost is $29 per person (children12 and under $26) and includesa souvenir ball cap. Menuincludes hickory smoked porkor chicken barbeque, bakedbeans, coleslaw, spinach-artichoke dip with tortilla chips,the hot dog bar, chocolate chipcookies, and Pepsi products.

33 Children Screened at Seymour United Methodist Church

Cynthia Holton, KidSight Program Coordinator at Tennessee Lions Charities, “we appreciate all you’re doingto expand the KidSight Program,” when reporting that the children did not need referrals for future eye care.
