Liopleurodon is a marine reptile. It can go to the sea and ocean . It was the predator when it wasn’t extincted. The only thing that would attack it was the big sharks but only if they were in a pack or if the shark was bigger than normal.

INTRODUCTION

APPEARANCE

Liopleurodon is mostly all colours. Lioopleurodon

main colours are normally black, white, green and

very rare brown.

Liopleurodon has smooth teeth. Their teeth are

very smooth but their teeth are uneven.

Liopleurodon uses it paddles (flippers) to turn and

use it’s tail to go forward.

Its paddles(flipper) are 10 foot (3 metres) long.

Liopleurodon paddles (flipper) are like wings flying

through the air.

Liopleurodon is found nearly everywhere in

the world. Its fossils sites are mostly found

in England, France and Russia.

HABITAT

Liopleurodon is a marine reptile and are fierce. They eat anything in their sight. Sometimes, they go to sea and the ocean to find more prey.

Liopleurodon was the tyrannosaurus of the sea and ocean, if anything got in its way it would kill it and eat it all up.

They are carnivore (meat eaters). The Liopleurodon is great at killing there prey

and would hunt for its prey day and night.

DIET

Palaeontologist’s suggest the total body length can be determined or estimated by the length of the skull.

They have four paddles (flipper) which means they are really super strong and an awesome swimmers.

Studies of the skull have shown that it could probably scan the water with its nostrils to work out certain smells.

The two Liopleurodon species lived during the Callovian stage of the middle Jurassic Period (c. 160 to 155 mya).

They have been known to grow up to 6.30 metres ( 21.0 feet) in length.

FACTS

The Liopleurodon was a very fierce creature of it’s time. If it was still in our waters today ,we might not have the marine life that lives now.

Back in it’s day, it would probably be feared like the Great White shark of today. You definately wouldn’t want to be in a row boat if that was hanging around the ocean!
