Helping people to live ‘on-purpose’ and transform negative emotions and experiences into positive

lessons for life.

Together we can make sure that you live the life you deserve; one that is filled with love, acceptance and joy.

The time is now! And it starts with you!

About Lisa“I’ve been on this journey since 1990. I was jolted into action as a twenty year old who found herself standingin a basement room just off the Kings Road in an AA meeting. I was young. I was sallow. I was very, very alone.

I had my last drink on that day and the journey to recovery from an adolescence full of trauma began. Not a day goes bywhen I don’t swim in gratitude, living my life with purpose, meaning and love.”

Lisa is a highly regarded independent lecturer, keynote speaker (in trauma, attachment, recovery, looked after children, and the experience of care leavers), writer and coach. She facilitates The Writing Path, and has developed the ‘Whatever! Youth Coaching’ programme.

Lisa has worked with young people in social care, children and families, early years development and education environments in a variety of roles including as a social worker in residential and care leaving environments and as a Connexions worker supportingyoung people not in education, employment and training. More recently, she worked as an extended services co-ordinator making sure that services meet the needs of vulnerable young people.

As a child Lisa experienced the care system as a looked after child and this experience has led her to write and publish three books and develop courses and keynote presentations on this and associated subjects. She has built a reputation for delivering transformational training and engaging participants imaginatively in the world of the traumatised child."

What I doLecturer - Speaker – Trainer - Writer

Are you someone who wants to live more consciously and feel as though life is a joy, not something to ‘get through’?Learning how to make sense of challenging life events can sometimes feel overwhelming.

If you are ready to let the fears and anxieties go so that you can deepen the relationship with yourself and move beyondnegative patterns, then I can help.

The wonderful thing about all of this, is that I am not special or extraordinary. A life of joy is available for us all. We justneed to want it!

If you are sick and tired of being sick and tired or you are making progress on your journey but can’t push throughsomething that is affecting the quality of your life, then you’re in the right place.

Through training, speaking, writing and working with people on a 1:1 basis I work with people to create individualtransformation.

Author Three fabulous books, with a fourth in the works

Soul Journey will teach you how tofollow your own path, and will help you point your feet in the right direction. Soul Journey

Many books paint motherhood as a beautiful thing, and of course it is, however, the author of “Steering the Mothership” isn’t scaredto point out that the relationship with our mothers are often imperfect, rather than create a false impression of reality. There wasone thing in particular that struck me about this book. It is not like some of the books on motherhood that often end up makingwomen feel inferior if they aren’t the “perfect” mother or they didn’t have a good relationship with their own mother. Instead, through the authors own story and case studies, Lisa Cherry isn’t scared to highlight just what a challenge being a mother can be andthe author makes plain her own struggles with motherhood. Steering the Mothership

“This book should be required reading for all who work with, or who intend to work with vulnerable children, in children's homes, insocial care or the mental health industry.” The Brightness of Stars

The Brightness of Stars: Stories of Adults Who Came Through the British Care System

Goodreads 4.67 of 5 stars

Amazon 5 out of 5 stars

This book is a collection of stories that focus on the adult voices, including the Author's own, of

personal insights and reflections of having been a Looked After child; the stories span five decades.

Unique in its delivery, this book is used by Social Work tutors, foster carers, adopters, social

workers, teachers, youth workers and anyone working with young people to gain a deeper insight.

This is a story about love and pain, hurt and isolation, a depth of a life, the big things and the little

things, how we live our lives through our relationships with others and where we feel we fit in. It is

how we explain that relationship that enables us to tell our stories and I tell mine, through the

language of emotion and through the feelings that remain with me.

Through these stories, we can share lost and unheard voices. We can have a discussion and provide

some thought-provoking information and recommendations for foster carers, teachers and staff in

social care working directly with young people. The strangeness of there being little information in

the public domain about the adults who have been children in a system that had been their corporate

parent is highlighted and in doing so gives rise to the opportunity for change.

Steering The Mothership – The Complexities of Mothering

Goodreads 5 of 5 stars

Amazon 5 out of 5 stars

The stories in this book search beyond the glossy yummy-mummy images that

bombard us every day, illustrating the real-life complexities of motherhood.

They help every reader to understand their own journey, both as a child and as a

mother, and help them investigate the single relationship that affects us most

throughout our lives, whether it has been a positive or a negative experience.

This book is essential reading for anyone not only working in Early Years

Development, Social Work or Education, but also for those simply trying to

understand this profound relationship.

Most importantly, from both a personal and professional perspective, Steering the

Mothership will help every reader to develop compassion, for themselves and for

others.

Looking After YourselfSelf Care For The Professional Carer

Are you a professional who works in a high stress

role looking after the vulnerable?

You know it is vital that you take care of yourself. However, all

too often you can be so preoccupied with the health and well-being

of the people in your professional care that your own needs take a

back seat.

A twenty year background in social work and education means I understand that ‘self care’ is never at the top of the agenda. This has led me to team up with colleague Kirsten Hanlon to put on this special

one day workshop where the complete focus is on YOU!.
