Ritwik Ghatak, at a young age

Ritwik Ghatak is mainly known as a filmmaker, but, he wasplaywright, poet, writer of short stories too. Ritwik Ghatak started hiscreative career as a poet and a story writer. Then he joined theatre andgot involved with Gananatya Sangha and IPTA. Later he moved tofilm direction. He also wrote more than 50 essays of films whichSatyajit Ray thought– "cover(ed) every possible aspect of thecinema".[]
