Upon completion of the workshop, participants will be eligible for 3.0 contact hours of continuing education. This workshop has been designed to meet MN Board of Nursing continuing education requirements of 3 CEUs. Attendees are responsible for determining whether this activity meets the requirements for acceptable continuing education.

PRESENTER BIOS: KATHRYN SELSETH Kathryn Selseth, MBA/HCA, MPH – Alzheimer’s Association Minnesota-North Dakota Program Manager Western Minnesota Kate’s professional career has been focused in service to persons with disabilities, caregivers, and older adults. She provides basic dementia resource workshops to community members as well as training for direct care staff in residential facilities in the areas of communication and memory loss, and dementia related behaviors. She has worked in long term care residential settings in a variety of capacities most of her career. She is experienced in long term care housing management, community program development, and individual care resource coordination.

PAM RADUNZPam Radunz is the Resident Services Director at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson, MN. She holds a BS- Art Education, MS – Gerontology, and a Facilitator Certifi cate for Respecting Health Care Choices all from SCSU. She is a Pres. Homes DOVE (Dementia Orientation Values Education) Educator/Trainer, ACT on Alzheimer’s Member and dementia Friends Champion, Certifi ed Activity Director, Registered Nursing Assistant. She has provided training within health care facilities and the community on various topics of dementia, various living options for elderly, support services for care givers and social wellness/activities. Pam is professionally active in her community in such programs as Meeker McLeod/ Sibley Workplace Wellness Consortium Leadership Team, Meeker Area Care Connections and Sr. Providers of McLeod County. Pam has worked in various roles of health care service for elderly in her 30 year career.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER – LIVE WEBINARLYNDA MONKLynda Monk, MSW, RSW, CPCC, Self-Care & Journal Writing Coach, Speaker & Author Lynda is a Registered Social Worker, Certifi ed Professional Co-Active Coach and Director of the International Association for Journal Writing, IAJW.org. She is the co-author of Writing Alone Together: Journalling in a Circle of Women for Creativity, Compassion and Connections, as well as co-author of the international bestselling book Inspiration for a Woman’s Soul: Choosing Happiness. She is the author of Life Source Writing™: A Refl ective Journaling Practice for Self-Discovery, Self-Care, Wellness and Creativity, as well as the producer of the Creative Wellness Guided Meditations CD.

Lynda has been teaching on the topics of self-care for caregivers for over 20 years, and specializes in burnout prevention, compassion fatigue, care for caregivers, stress management, mindfulness and writing for wellness. She also has personal experience with caregiving as her mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s last year and sadly her father passed away in September 2017, from Alzheimer’s disease. She lives with her family on Salt Spring Island, BC, Canada where she tries her best to integrate self-care into each day.
