Procedures

1. The students should sit in a circle and the

teacher will stand in the centre of the circlebut the teacher is advised to stand at 45 o angle so that the teacher does not show herback to the students when telling the story.

2. The teacher will tell the story of Beauty andThe Beast using paper puppets and it isadvisable for the teacher to use bodygestures and action to explain the story tothe students.

3 Later, the students are divided into two groups thatare, girls and boys and they are required to sing the

jazz chant that will be provided by the teachers,

4 After singing the jazz chant, the students aredivided into three to four groups and they will

be provided a script from different scenes in thestory and they should act out the scriptspontaneously and the group which perform agood act will be rewarded marks.

5 After that, the students will remain in the samegroups and one representative from each groupwill be asked to become the person who standson the board to play the snake and ladder game.

6 Each group will take turn to throw the diceand has to answer the question and if thegroup members successfully answer thequestion, then they will sing the same jazzchant to celebrate their victory and if they

fail to answer the question, then they will bedisqualified from the game.

7 The group that reaches the final number in theboard will be the winner of the game andrewarded marks for their victory.

8 Then, the students will be given crosswordpuzzle based on the story to test their

vocabulary and the group that complete thecrossword puzzle faster that the other groupswill be rewarded higher mark.

greatly rewarded by the teacher.

10 Later, as last activity, the students should makeBelles dress in which every student will be given apiece of A4 paper and old newspapers by theteacher.

11 The students are instructed by the teacher tomake the outline of Belles dress. (The teachershould show some example of the dress outlines)

12 Then, they are asked to cut out colours from theold newspapers and paste them in the dressoutlines made by the students.

13 Each student will be given colour papers to listout the characteristics of Belle in the story andasked to stick those characteristics to Bellesdress.

1. The teacher will display the karaoke video ofHey Diddle Diddle and the students shouldlisten to the song.

2. Then they will be given the lyrics of HeyDiddle Diddle song and the students have to

read and understand the lyrics clearly.

3 Later, the teacher will display the karaokevideo of Hey Diddle Diddle again and ask thestudent to sing along at least three timesuntil they remember the lyrics. The studentshould sing along with the song while making

actions and facial expression according to thesong.

4 After singing the song, the student will beintroduced to a jazz chant and asked to singthe jazz chant together,

5 Then, the students were divided into three tofour groups. The groups will sit in the differentcoloured mats that were provided by theteacher to differentiate each group.

6 Each group will be provided the materials tomake the mobile (glue, scissors, hole punch,ribbon, straw and the characters in the rhyme).

They were given 30 minutes to complete the taskof making the mobile (teacher should guide thestudents throughout the activity).

7 Later, the student will sing again the nursery

rhyme while demonstrating the action of thecharacters in the song with the mobile thatthey make.

8 Every mobile that is completely done by thestudents will be hanged in the classroom for

display.

9 After finish making the mobile, the student willstart to make paper puppets in the same groupwith the provided materials (scissors, glue, usedpaper bag and characters) and they will be given20 minute to complete the task.

10 After that, the student will be asked to make along line in the classroom according to their own

group and sing the Hey Diddle Diddle song whilemaking a caterpillar dance around their class.

Procedures

1. Teacher gives direction by asking the students to

sit in a circle.

2. Students share the stories that they know.

3. Teacher shows the puppet and songs and asksthe students to guess the title of the stories thatgoing to tell.

4. Teacher tells the story by showing the colourfulpicture book together with gestures and bodylanguage.

5 Teacher commands the students to get back to theirown seat and give the materials that needed such asscissors, glue and etc.

6 Every student is given a template of the wolf thatalready prepared by the teacher early on togetherwith colour pencil, scissors, glue, toilet paper roll.

7 The students are asked to colour the pieces asappropriate and creative.

8 The students require to cut off the template thatalready been coloured early on.

9 The teacher instructed the students to glue the largerectangular piece around the toilet paper tube toform the body of the wolf character.

10 Next, the students glue the tail onto the back of thetoilet paper to make a 3D effect.

11 The head of the wolf will glue onto the front of thetoilet paper roll while the paws on sides so that thecrafts look like they are in a sitting position.

12 After the crafts are done, the students are requiring tolist down the characteristics of the wolf at the back ofthe craft.

14 Certain chosen students come to the front of theclass to lead and sing the song together with thecraft that they had made by following the songthat played.

4 The video is played after the students can read thenursery rhyme lyrics fluently.

5 Teacher leads the students to sings the Jack and Jillnursery rhyme with actions and body gestures.

6 Teacher shows the word cards and asks students tochant the spelling of the words and clap their handsfor each consonant and slap their knees for eachvowel.

7 Teachers should be selective about the words that goon the word wall. Try to include words that childrenuse most commonly in their writing. Words should beadded gradually - a guideline is five words per week.

8 Use the word wall daily to practice wordsincorporating a variety of activities such as:chanting, snapping, cheering, clapping, tracing,word guessing games as well as writing them.

9 Provide enough practice so that words are readand spelled automatically and make sure thatword walls are always spelled correctly in thechildren's daily writing.

10 Picture crossword puzzle is given as an exerciseto enhance the students writing and thinking byrefreshing back the nursery rhyme lyrics that theyhave learn before.
