Major assault is health impairment resulting in the victim’s loss of sight, hearing, speech, reproductive capacity or pregnancy; a serious incurable disease or a long‐term and life‐threatening illness or serious mental illness, or loss of most of his capacity for work in a profession or in general employment, or becoming permanently maimed.

Investgated crimes are crimes recorded and investigated within the accounting period as well as crimes recorded before the accounting period thought investigated within the accounting period. Share of investigated crimes is a ratio of investigated crimes to crimes recorded during the accounting period. It is given in per cent. 20.2 – include attempts (2005 – 21, 2006 – 17). 20.10, 20.11, 20.13, 20.14 ‐ data on these types of crimes are collected for the inclusion in the statistics during investigation when suspected persons are detected.
