BrexitThis has been a long time coming, something close to 43 years. The

approach of the referendum wasawaited by the world, not just theBritish electorate. Within the UK theelectorate was reminded that the 7th

June was the deadline to register tovote and yet still this was permittedto be extended. The Governmentmachinery deployed to scare thepeople as did sections of the media,

academia and a number ofm ultinational corporations alsomobilised to intimidate the public toget them to vote to remain in theEU. After all this, the voting public

still decided to leave theundemocratic EU by a majority ofover 1.3 million people. lt istherefore confounding that thereshould have been such indignantprotest and even indignity in theclamour for another referendum. The fleas of hypocrisy never have tojump very far to find a new feastingground.

New British Prime MinisterThe one commendable act in thiswhole referendum saga by David

Cameron was to resign as Prime

Minister on 24th June. lt is howeververy odd that the entire countryshould be kept waiting for onepolitical party to choose a newleader in a few months. The

Conservative Party is not as

important as the country and thesooner the self-important politicians

realise this, the better. Leadership is

needed now, not when theConservative Party members wish togather in a few months.

Who will be the next PM?

There is a lot of media hype aboutthe Conservative Party newleadership selection but with thepublic vote being to leave the EU,

the new Prime Minister should be

from the Brexit camp. Any otheroutcome would be selling short. This

means at the time of print there is

the choice of Andrea Leadsom,

MichaelGove or Liam Fox.

Out of the EU but in the CommonMarketWhy would we want to stay in theCommon Market? The EU sells so

much to us that it would be foolishfor our new Prime Minister to wantto be in this farcical CommonMarket with its freedom ofmovement and ever intrusiveregulation. The voting Public votedto leave and that is what should be

delivered. Out should mean out, the

First Edition

Europeans are unlikely to suddenlystop selling to us.

What of Scotland now?The Scottish First Minister is

struggling to get Scotland to remainin the EU. The votes have been cast

and while Scotland has voted toremain in the EU, but it is still in theUK. This could change if there is

another Scottish referendum and ifthe consensus of the Scottish People

is that they want this, then howeverunfortunate for the UK, this couldhappen. There is the paradox thatno Scottish politician wantingScottish independence can explain

that they want to leave the so calleddominance of London to be ruled byBrussels? lt would make more sense

if Scotland wanted independence

from the UK and also the EU but thisis not what we are hearing.

Northern IrelandWe can only guess what will happenhere but these are fast changingtimes.

The United KingdomThis fine country could well break up

and we could have England andWales left or possibly even justEngland. lf this does happen, it willbe a free England and not a puppetstate ofthe EU.

New ZealandNew Zealand has offered the UK

their expertise of their tradenegotiators and the Australians have

made similarly positive overtures onwanting to trade with us. Yet againthese same and otherCommonwealth Nations have

stepped forward in Britain's hour ofneed. We should be gratefulthatthey are prepared to overlook thefact that we have not regarded theCommonwealth with the value weshould have done over the last 43years.
