LITTLE LAMB CLUB

NEWSLETTER OCT-NOV

I’m not sure how it happened but its suddenly October and

Christmas is being counted down in weeks instead of months!

We have been all steam ahead revamping the shop, dramatically

expanding our range of clothing again and stocking up with

fabulous gifts for Christmas (Look out for our Xmas gift guide, to be

released 25th October!).

After initial delays from our suppliers, we are now excited to be

stocked to the absolute brim with a department store-worthy range

of beautiful summer clothing in sizes up to 6 years.

Leading brands Bebe, Plum, Purebaby, Fox & Finch and Marquise

(all stocked in Myers and/or David Jones) are all beautifully

represented in store along with independent brands Love Henry

and Milky and Quince and Hide & Seek to arrive by 21st October.

With pallets of stock including new clothing just arrived and still

more to come make sure you come and discover what’s new!

We are delighted to announce the arrival of Shelley’s

precious baby girl Mia Elizabeth, born 10/10/13.

A big congratulations to Shelley, Phil, and big brother Jet!

We warmly welcome beautiful Mia into the Little Lamb

family with lots of love and are so excited to finally meet

and cuddle her!

I’m sure we will still be seeing Shelley in store lots soon!

Shelley wishes to pass on her sincere thanks and gratitude

for all the beautiful thoughts and well wishes sent her way

from our wonderful customers. She says she feels blessed

beautiful finishing touches to the displays and some

We have made it more spacious and have designed it to

make it even easier to find your way around and look at

everything. We have concentrated on displaying brands

The Story Behind Aden & Anais

Aden + Anais specialises in quality stunning

cotton and bamboo muslin products and is

taking the world by storm, with celebrities and

even Prince George (see photo insert) being

spotted with their products, particularly the

swaddle wraps.

They have fast become our top selling non-clothing brand

with 100s of boxes of swaddles and sleeping bags sold to

adoring Darwin mums.

We love that they couldn't be more perfect for Darwin’s hot

climate. The natural fibres and muslin open weave means

they are super lightweight and perfectly breathable.

The range we carry has now expanded from their boxes of

120 x 120 wraps (truly multi purpose not just for swaddling)

and sleeping bags, to include burp cloths, bibs, blankets,

cot sheets and change pad covers, all in both the cotton and

bamboo fabrics.

So how did this now multi -

million dollar business begin?

When Australian Mum Raegan moved

to the U.S. she couldn’t find any

swaddles like the ones she

remembered from home. The only

swaddles available were too small. Or

made of much-too-thick flannel. Or,

Muslin Sleeping Bags


There are dozens of sleeping bag brands on the market now

but we only stock one, as we believe they are the most

suitable for Darwin, are fantastic quality and are available at

a great price, well below the price of many other brands.

The Aden+ Anais sleeping bags are made from the same

beautiful cotton and bamboo muslin fabrics as their wraps,

meaning the ultimate in breathability and softness.

Each bag zips from the bottom, making nappy changes easy,

and has a strip of muslin over the zipper providing extra

comfort. They have extra length at the bottom to allow for

growing bodies (you should get at least 6 months out of each

size) and a deep V-neck for total safety.

They are available in 0.5 and 0.6 TOG single layer (both

$39.95) or 4 layer1.75 TOG cotton muslin ($59.95) and much

to the delight of many mums obsessed with the bamboo

fabrics, a 0.4Tog (the lightest sleeping bag on the market)

bamboo muslin.

Confused about TOG ratings?

TOG is the measure of warmth, the lower the TOG the lighter/

cooler the fabric.

0.5 or below TOG sleeping bags are recommended for above 24

Degree C rooms with suggested clothing of short sleeve or no

bodysuit underneath. If you room is colder than 24 degrees simply

layer accordingly with a long sleeve romper underneath. If it is

much colder, it is suggested to go to a higher TOG bag.

Every baby is different however with some babies being “Hot”

babies who feel the heat and others who feel the cold so you may

need to adjust clothing to suit YOUR baby. If your baby is in the heat

most of the day you may find at 24 Degrees (If you are putting the

air conditioner on at night) they will feel the cold and you may need

to put a long sleaved bodysuit under to keep arms warm.

Sleeping bags are recommended by Sids &Kids as a safe alternative to sheets and blankets

and provide a great bedtime routine for babies to toddlers (up to 2 years old).


Hide & Seek (Arriving mid-late October)

Hide and Seek is an independent brand new to the

market and will bring a splash of vibrant and happy

colour to our range of clothing for the ‘big girls’, in

sizes 1-6.

Sweet and screaming summer, there will be many

little girls looking beautiful in these cool and

comfortable lightweight cotton dresses and to-die-for

chevron shorts (We have all decided we want them in

our sizes!).

While the name suggests otherwise, these dresses

stand out way too much to hide in!

If you love what you see here, get in quick as stock

with this brand is very limited!

We are very excited to showcase our second

collection of Quince clothing, once again

providing a very vintage look in both fabric and style with impeccable

attention to detail with ruffle edges, pintucking and piping.

Quince produces a baby range in sizes 0-3 months to 12-24 months and a

kids range in sizes 2 –3 years to 5-6 years and includes ever so gorgeous

playsuits (we are in love with playsuits this season!), jumpsuits,

dresses, overalls and more.

year but finally (after being originally expected in store in

July!) this divine collection has arrived! And my gosh, hasn't

it been worth the wait!

less than 2 weeks and dozens of people putting their names

down on our restock waiting list!

At this stage we will be able to receive replacements but

once they sell out completely we will have to wait until next

year for their new summer range!

Your Pelvic Floor, why use it?

The Pelvic floor has to be the most underrated groups of

muscles in the human body in terms of how important they

are to your core. Most everyone has heard of the term “core

strength” but not many are aware of how the Pelvic floor

muscles play their role in this.

The “Pelvic Floor” is a term used for a

diamond shaped sling of muscles at the

bottom of your pelvis that when acti-

vated will also activate your deep ab-

dominals and your lower back muscles.

Imagine a bongo drum turned upside

down, the sides of the drum are your

core musculature and the skin of the

drum is the pelvic floor muscle group.

When you go to the loo and do a num-

ber one and stop half way through,

that’s your pelvic floor musculature at

work. Without a strong pelvic floor and good pelvic floor activation your ab-

dominals will inherently be weaker than they should be and

you could even suffer with back pain as well.

Why is this so important to women? Consider this, your pel-

vic floor muscles help your pelvis hold in place all the inter-

nal organs such as your intestines, bladder, bowel etc, and

in the case of a woman the uterus and when pregnant, a

baby that can weigh as much as 3.4kg! Ladies those pelvic

floor muscles are important to you! If you find you’re slightly

incontinent when you sneeze, or when you do any high im-

pact exercise such as running or aerobics or suffer with

back pain, I’d suggest you focus on your pelvic floor mus-

cles as a start to improving your core strength and core acti-

vation.

A simple exercise you can do while standing or sitting on a

swiss ball is to squeeze your pelvic floor muscles as tight as

you can then relax completely. Do that three times and then

on the third squeeze hold the contraction and do three small

pulses of the muscles and then relax them completely.

Repeat the sequence 4-5 times. Moving about your daily ac-

tivities your pelvic floor muscles should always be switched

on at a low level of around a 3 on a scale of 1- 10 with 10

being the hardest you can squeeze.
