Brothers George and Ira Gershwin created some of the most iconic music of the 20th century. For the past seven years, the Library of Congress has celebrated the lifetime achievements of other artists whose work has promoted song as a vehicle of musical expression and cultural understanding by awarding them the prestigious Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. Each year, the award is presented in Washington, D.C. at a star-studded concert attended by the President of the United States and other luminaries. This coming November, you’ll be one of them.
