The Newsletter of The Gardens at Calvary Volume 16 May 2016 Issue 05
HAVE PATIENCE!!!!!!
“The key to everything is patience. You get the chicken by hatching the egg, not by smashing it” (Arnold H. Glasgow). I so agree. Patience is an indispensable ingredient of a peaceful, happy life. Imagine the mistakes which would not have happened had you been more patient. Think of the unnecessary anguish you have suffered because you lacked patience. How many friends or family members have you driven crazy or driven away because you had too little patience? What better life and more intense joy could you have gained had you been more patient? One day I will have more patience. I can’t wait! Patience is essential to the character of every believer in Jesus. Patience of spirit is better than haughtiness of spirit (Ecclesiastes 7:8). It is how we wait for the Lord (Psalm 40:1). It is what love is (1 Corinthians 13:4). It is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5). It is how we walk in a worthy manner (Ephesians 4:2). It is a goal of the power we receive for holy living (Colossians 1:11). It is how we should be to everyone (1 Thessalonians 5:14). It is the key to endurance (1 Peter 2:20). Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, “Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience.” If we pay close attention to nature, we see amazing illustrations of this virtue. It is as if God ordered all of his creation in a way to teach us one simple lesson, “Good things come to those who wait.” Did you ever sing this children’s song?
Have patience, have patience. Don't be in such a hurry. When you get impatient, you only start to worry. Remember, remember that God is patient, too And think of all the times when others have to wait for you.
“Yet those who wait for the Lord Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary” (Isaiah 40:31). Norman Drummond, Chaplain
Welcome Ronnie Bush Interim Dietary Director
Howdy! My name is Ronnie Bush and I am excited to be moving from my home state of Texas to join the great team at The Gardens!
A little about me is that I love sweet tea and coffee, cooking, eating smoked bbq and fried chicken, fishing, hunting, and college basketball and football. I studied Bible and Theology at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago and lived a year in Taiwan as a missionary and professional basketball player.
For the past seven years I have lived in Houston doing a variety of things as serving in the ministry, coaching and teaching, and working for Specialty Food Services in a Houston living assistance home. I love to hear people's stories so I look forward to moving
soon to Columbus to hear your story and to serve you anyway possible.
My favorite quote that I live by is, "A Shared Table is a Shared Life" and my favorite scripture that defines my life is Acts 20:24, "However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me--the task of testifying to the good news of God's grace."
Caregiver Support Group
The Alzheimer’s Association’s caregiver Support Groups are designed to provide emotional,
educational and social support for caregivers through regularly scheduled meetings. They
help participants to develop methods and skills to solve problems. The groups encourage
caregivers to maintain their own personal, physical and emotional health, as well as
optimally care for the person with dementia.
The Gardens and Green Houses at Calvary will soon have an Alzheimer’s caregiver support
group on campus. We would love to hear from you regarding your interest in participation.
Please email your thoughts regarding meeting time and day to

mom and perhaps even the many uses of your mother’s apron that she once wore, you may
reminisce with other family members. As we prepare for this special mother’s day
luncheon honoring all of our nurturing ladies, we ask that you share a few memories with
us. If you would like to share a few memories, please email them to Wendy at
