HEY KIDS! HAVE A HAPPY, HAPPENING BREAK!!

Dear Parent,

Warm greetings!

We hope the children enjoyed their time in school, summer vacation are just round the

corner. As much as we enjoyed getting to know them. As a parent, it is important to invest

some quality time with your little ones. We are sharing some tips with you to make these

vacations a fruitful, constructive & creative period for them.

1. Children should know their telephone number, home address and nearest

landmark identification.

2. Have at least two meals together with your children.

3. Teach them not to waste their food.

4. Let your child learn 5 new words daily in English.

5. Spend time with the grandparents and let your children strengthen their bond with

them their love and emotional support is very important for your child.

6. Share stories about your childhood.

7. Allow your child to play outdoors.

8. Be a friend to your child, play games like Ludo, carom, badminton etc.

9. Get some storybooks with colourful pictures for your kids.

10. Try to keep your children away from TV, Mobile phones, Computers and other

electronic gadgets.

11. Avoid giving junk food like: chocolates, jellies, cream cakes, chips, aerated drinks

and too many bakery products and fried items.

12. Explore Nature - Take your child for morning walk & let him / her count the trees,

cars, stones, flowers etc.

13. Make your child independent - Buttoning his/her shirt, packing his/her school bag,

keeping his/her belonging back in their place etc.

14. Show them short stories and movies with moral values English / Hindi.

15. Prepare one western and one folk dance (Garba, bhangra etc) for dance

competition, which would be held on July 2019.

16. Prepare any five-finger puppets.

Creative Development

ACTIVITY 1

* Help your child to make his/her own piggy bank by using empty box. Do painting, paper-

tearing pasting or choose any other form to make it colourful.

Material Required:

1. A small box, coloured paper, glue, scissors, decorative material

Method-

1. Take a box of any shape. 2. Cover it completely with a coloured paper. 3. Make a hole

on top of it so that the coins can be inserted. 4. Decorate it with stars, mirrors, ribbons,

glitters stickers etc. 5.Give it a name “MY PIGGY BANK”.

Activity 2

* Help your child to: Make a tablemat

Things required * A-3 size sheet * Crayons/water colour

Method:

* Take one A-3 size sheet. Help your child to draw and colour on it (hand printing, finger

printing etc.) paste pictures of fruits, vegetables and dry fruits

* Write his/her name and class and laminate it. *The child should carry this mat every

day to school.

Language Development: -

Children have amazing capacity to learn new words, grasp and correlate stories with real

life situate. Encourage them to speck key words like THANK YOU, PLEASE, EXCUSE

ME, SORRY.

Teach and encourage children to speak shorts sentences.

Examples: - 1 Give me more 2 I am hungry. 3 Please give me water. 4 Please help. 5 I

want to play. 6 I am sleepy.

So, children take up certain take responsibilities and enjoy the holidays with your family.

1.Walk. Together. Go for walk with your family. You have two of the God’s greatest gifts

------ NATURE and FAMILY for these gifts.

2.Care and Concern. Help your parents, grandparents and even your younger brother

and sister.

3.Play outdoor games – You need physical exercise too – Go cycling play badminton,

cricket, hide and seek that will make you run.

4.Watch educational Tv programs on Animal planet, Discovery channel, National

Geographic Channel.

5.Use the magic words – Please, sorry, thank you, excuse -me.

6. Make a chart on animals and their homes with decorative material.

MATHS:

1.Cut and Paste different shapes (with glaze paper) to make figure for egg house, bud,

tree, train, clown etc. in the scrap book.

2. Paste your recent photograph in the scrap book and present the following information

beautifully complete the information about yourself in numbers only.

make as many words as you can from the letters of big words for example CAT,

AnyConnect. Now write each word on small circles and decorative cut outs of any

shape from another A4 size sheet.

Vacation is a welcome break!

Let’s cheer for the 3R’s – Rejuvenation, Relaxation and Rebonding! and utilize time in

the best possible manner.

Here are a few tips to follow-

1. Free play time should alternate with structural game – this cultivates sportsmanship.

2. Assign a permanent workplace and a work-time. This brings in discipline your life.

3. Reading story books will develop your language skills.

4. Inculcate good manners- 4 magic words ‘Please, Thank you, Excuse me, Sorry’- use

them and see the difference.

5. Help your mummy to keep house clean. Do small household jobs like dusting,

watering the plants, laying dinner table and so on.

6. Plan some outdoor and indoor games.

7. Go out for morning walk, talk about things you see around.

8. Listen stories from family members and try to narrate them.

9. Plan a daily routine for yourself and your family members. Pen it down and follow it.

Spend quality time with your parents.

10. Try to speak in English with your family members and friends.

11. Here are a few projects and activities for you to learn while having fun.

Project – 1EVS

Make finger puppets of your family members.

(Use clothes or paper and thread or wool for hair)

Go in kitchen find different kinds of grains , pulses , vegetables, spices and

other products. Make a list of at least five products in each category. Write their

complete information. For example- wheat is grown in Punjab, Haryana, UP etc.

We make flour to make chapattis.

Project – 2 ENGLISH

Write ten lines on any two topics:- My home / My pet / My Family . (in scrap book)

Read one page of English ferry book regularly.

Do one page daily in English cursive book or in 5 or 10 rupees notebook. Read newspaper daily

Learn tables 2 to 10.

We are sure that all of you must be enjoying your holidays. You must have started

making plans to visit your grandparents, relatives and friends, watching television

during the day, taking a dip in the swimming pool and joining some activity

classes with your friends. We wish that you enjoy every minute of this long break

with your family and friends. It will be great if you are able to find time to visit

museums and monuments, learn new things, explore new areas near your house,

play indoor and outdoor games , read as many story books as you can ,help your

parents and grandparents, go for morning walk and play in the park in the

evenings during your long summer break.
