Present Day Teaching-Learning Environment

An Integrated, Collaborative, Academic Tool is the Solution to Problems

In the present-day school set up, teaching has taken a new dimension. Apart from course planning, teachers are

required to do several activities, which are time-consuming and intense. Such detailing in the level of activities

is necessary to ensure that teachers deliver the best learning experience to students and meet the high

expectations of parents.

Teachers have to collate the best instructional materials from a wide variety of resources including the Internet.

Usually, teachers consider an average level student while preparing and assigning formative and summative assessments.

Giving the same set of assignments leaves the top rung of students uninspired and the bottom rung of students struggling.

Teacher-student interaction is limited to the classroom and the learning materials remain in the class.

Students consult their friends and external tutors for clarifying their doubts. Often, the Internet becomes their last resort.

At times, there is a delay in publishing exam results.

Students experience a delay in getting a quick estimation of their learning gaps at the granular level.

Selecting the right resources and measuring their effectiveness can be time-consuming.

Teachers have to create unique assessments to ensure that questions are not repeated.

Creating formative and summative assessments without repetition takes up a lot of their teaching time.

Teachers prefer students to come prepared for a topic before classroom lectures. Hence, they prefer a flipped classroom model.

In the absence of non-digital tools, teachers can’t share learning material with students on an online platform and track their usage.

Principals face difficulty in monitoring teacher effectiveness and updating lesson plans as per new directives.

Principals have to ensure that lesson plans, which are individually owned by teachers, are modified whenever new directives are issued.

Principals face difficulty in identifying learning gaps due to the dearth of data on class performance and get the report only after the results are published.

Principals have to engage in timely analysis of the academic performance of the school.

Principals experience long delays in getting updates on course progress from the teachers.

Principals have to ensure that all courses for the current academic year are completed on time.

Parents are often required to go through the latest school updates.

Due to their busy schedule, parents lack knowledge of the courses being taught in the class on a day-to-day basis. This, in turn, leaves less scope for validation.

Parents have to implement corrective measures based on their child’s performance.

In the absence of digital tools, parents lack real-time information about students’ daily activities and assessments.

Parents should stay informed about the homework assigned to their children.

In the absence of homework alerts, parents are not aware of the assigned tasks and submission dates.

“We understand that the educational milieu in our country needs a major overhaul in terms of the existing teaching-learning methods for children and the curricula presently delivered in schools. At Next Education, we have exclusively designed an LMS for the K–12 sector. We are proud to say that our academic content for LMS and TeachNext (our digital classroom solution), has been in circulation for almost a decade.”

Sarah Minah | Academic Consultant, Next Education

“LMS is an excellent Learning Management System with a holistic approach making it a one-stop data location with better accountability for classroom teachers, and for school systems in general. It provides features, functionalities and tools school need to create the kind of high-value experience for all stakeholders

It is appropriate in this capacity because it creates a streamlined sense of communication for teachers, parents, students, and administration. It is helpful for teachers as it pulls together all the necessary information for each class and for each student and houses it in one full source. It makes interventions for students easy, and it also helps the administration keep tabs on overall progress”.
