D.W. Griffith

His editing turned out to be the opposite to what he intended no producing so this put the wrong message across to the public. David was the first person to cut up film to edit the footage. Unlike Sergie Einsenstein who cut up footage with purpose to produce propaganda and rearranged them in a certain style and technique to produce am organised film, Griffith did it with no purpose and just had clips rearranged with no specific purpose to it.

'How editing styles have developed and changed over time'

Methods and techniques have become more technical and precise to what they were years ago. Years and years ago fast moving montage films were popular where as nowadays the camera angles and editing of the film are more important and have become a vital part of the process of creating a film.
