LOANER MAKERBOT TIPS FROM ALEX

Friend of the FAB LAB Alex Baddock from Amtech loaned us a 5th-generation Makerbot for TEDx. He gave me some tips that I’m going to pass on to you guys…

You can print from the station next to the Makerbot, or save your print file to the USB drive that is in the Makerbot (don’t lose/steal/‘borrow’ the thumb drive!!!)

If you set up a print file on your personal computer, first make sure that you have the latest MakerBot Desktop software installed!

Under the ‘Devices’ menu, make sure Replicator (5th Generation) is selected.

In the Print settings, under the Custom tab, set the Infill to diamond. Alex says it’s much faster!

Always print with a raft - that will make it easier to remove from the build plate.

Set the Extruder to Smart Extruder +.
