Local Chapter President #CLMChapter Number of Positions: One Term Length: One year* Objective: The Chapter President keeps the Chapter focused on fulfilling the goals of the CLM at the local level. The President oversees officers and committees and encourages teamwork. The President maintains the operations of the Chapter. The President is an ambassador to the local membership and helps recruit additional members. Average Time Commitment: 2 hours per week with more at key times Responsibilities: Preside at all meetings Appoint alternate if he/she is unavailable to attend a meeting/event Hold monthly leadership meetings to ensure Local Chapter events are progressing Prepare leadership meeting agendas Monitor progress of Chapter goals and objectives Appoint committees as necessary Identify and implement services for Chapter members Keep current with CLM initiatives Serve as the Chapter’s spokesperson Report to the State Chairs on the Chapter’s activities and success Qualifications: In-depth knowledge of the CLM Service of at least one term in another CLM officer position Ability to delegate Comfortable with public speaking Demonstrated leadership skills Ability to communicate effectively Measures of Success: Increase Chapter membership Strong recruiting and retention initiatives Active and growing committee structure Accessibility to officers and members Conduct efficient and productive meetings Be a positive role model Benefits: Gain experience in building and working with committees Play a key role in shaping Chapter’s future Opportunity to network on different levels Improve meeting management skills Gain experience that can be used in connection with current employment Be a mentor to new members and volunteers *Inaugural Chapter leadership roles are two years but subsequent terms will be only one year rev. 04/30/2018

Local Chapter Vice President

Objective: The Vice President is responsible for assisting the President in coordinating and directing committee activities and Local Chapter operations. Succession to the Presidency.

Average Time Commitment: 2 hours per w eek with more at key times

Responsibilities:Attend all meetings, including leadership meetings Monitor progress of Chapter goals and objectives Identify and implement services for Chapter membersKeep current with CLM initiativesAdvise and assist the PresidentAssume President’s role in his/her absenceIdentify with assistance of delegates potential membersDevelop membership and retention campaignsRecognition of outstanding members in assisting with recruitment

Local Chapter Secretary

Objective: To maintain Chapter’s records and assist in obtaining sponsorship for local events

Average Time Commitment: 2 hours per week with more at key times

Responsibilities:Attend all meetings, including leadership meeting Record and prepare minutes of leadership meetings Disseminate minutes to all leadership members following approval by the PresidentMaintain Chapter recordsRecruit vendor sponsorship for local eventsAdvise Directors of vendor sponsorship for local eventsWork closely with Vice President on membership initiativesEnsure Chapter membership is current in CLM database

Local Chapter Director of Education

Number of Positions: One or Two

Objective: To support and lead the Chapter toward a successful self-sustaining membership. Director will plan and execute the educational component of the local events

Average Time Commitment: 2 hours per week with more at key times.

Responsibilities:Work with leadership and CLM Administrative sta� to prepare/organize educational material for educational events and meet CE/CLE states accreditation requirementsArrange Speakers and panel members according to The CLM guidelinesWork closely with the Director(s) of Events Set the direction of the Chapter for its continued success by overseeing educational components of local eventsWork with delegates of Chapter to assist in developing 2+ events per yearAppoint committee as necessaryUpdate President for agenda for monthly leadership meetings on educational event planningAttend all meetings, including leadership meetingsWork to enhance networking opportunities for members
