AFFORDABLE HOUSINGIn 2014, Rushcliffe Borough Council, against its wishes, was told by thegovernment to provide 13,150 new homes by 2028, and this is proving to be ahuge challenge. There's a need for "affordable housing" and although theborough council has a better record than many, it's not complacent, and strivesfor 30% of affordable homes on new developments. Work has now started onnew homes on the north side of Bingham and will take up to ten years tocomplete. If elected, Andrew and Gareth will seek to ensure communitybenefits from this large project are met in full.

BINGHAM RAILWAY STATION FOOTBRIDGEAndrew and Gareth have welcomed the news that Bingham Station is beingre-considered by Network Rail for the latest round of government funding for"access for all", to allow everyone to use the footbridge over the railway line.
