Changes from Previous CIP

• Parks Maintenance Capital projects for FY2017-FY2018 updated to reflect current renovation/replacement priorities; more funding shifted from PAYG to bond

• Land Acquisition Program has been increased from $2 million to $3 million per bond cycle

• Synthetic Field Program adjusted to reflect existing indoor field at Gunston bubble, two new fields at Williamsburg/Discovery campus, and planned field at Rosslyn Highlands/Wilson School. Four new fields will be developed in the out years, sites to be determined after the Public Spaces Master Plan is updated

• New Trails Modernization Program focused on major upgrading of the County’s 31.5 mile system of off-street multi-purpose trails

• Funding for feasibility studies ($350k per year) added beginning in FY2018. Funds consultants to respond to public space and parks issues/opportunities that arise from site plans, sector plans, APS plans

• Out year project timing has been adjusted for several projects (Four Mile Run Near-Stream Improvements, Mosaic Park Phase 2, Quincy Park)

• Four new Park Master Plan projects included for the out years (Arlington Boathouse, Drew Park, Glebe and Randolph Park and Rosslyn Highlands Park +)

• Long Bridge Park Aquatics, Health and Fitness Facility and surrounding 10.5 acres of the park moving forward

Long Bridge Park Aquatics, Health and Fitness Facility &10.5 Acres of Park

• Work session with County Board on April 12th confirmed revised project scope for the building. Focuses on reduced building program that concentrates on core community needs

• 73,000 SF building includes 50 meter X 25 yard pool, combined teaching pool/family pool, health and fitness space, wet classrooms, community room, spectator seating, facility administration and locker facilities

• 10.5 acres of park includes continuation of esplanade, event lawns, parking, rain gardens, public art, environmental remediation

• Designed and built using existing funding. Expected completion calendar 2021
