The FR-S, which stands for Front-engine, Rear-wheel drive, Sport; is Scion’s definition of an authentic rear-wheel-drive sports car with exceptionally balanced performance and handling, compel-

ling style, flexible utility and surprising fuel efficiency.

The FR-S is a true “Scion,” born into a lengthy history of Toyota performance cars and motorsports. During planning and development, it was most inspired by the AE86 generation of the Corolla. The AE86 was a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive coupe that was lightweight and well balanced, making it a solid choice for driving enthusiasts.

The FR-S is designed around the core goal of achieving “Pure Balance,” which begins with the strategic use of the world’s only flat boxer engine

in a front-engine, rear-wheel drive configuration. The engine’s compact size and flat shape allow it to be mounted mid-ship and extremely low, giving the car a dynamically favourable front-to-rear weight ratio of 53:47 and a low centre of gravity comparable to some exotic supercars.

The FR-S’s 2.0-litre, naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine mates with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. The manual offers quick, precise shifts with a short-throw; while the automatic features aggressive up shifts and sporty rev-matched down shifts that are initiated by steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. The automatic features Dynamic

Rev Management technology that quickly raises the engine speed to help match engine revs to gear ratios on downshifts, limiting driveline shock and adding to the visceral experience of driving the car.

The automatic transmission also features Sport Mode that quickens shift timing as well as throttle response. In Sport Mode, the transmission will also hold gears longer at higher revs before upshifting, making it easier to exploit the torque and horsepower in the upper reaches of the rev range. Lightweight 17x7-inch alloy wheels and ventilated disc brakes are standard on all four corners.

Powerful Exterior Design

The fierce exterior of the FR-S is a solid reflection of its inner power. The profile reveals a hood and roof-line that is remarkably sleek and low, giving it an aerodynamic shape that channels air cleanly over to the top. The low stance continues to exaggerate the coupe’s menacing face, which is made up of sharp lines, a wide lower intake and angular headlights that house the projector-beam halogen lamps. The aggressive front fenders protrude upward and boast the iconic ‘86’ piston emblem, which highlights the car’s AE86 heritage as well as its unique new boxer engine. The rear fascia sits low and wide, with aerodynamic lower treatments that surround the sporty dual exhaust system. LEDs illuminate the edgy taillights, while centre-mounted backup lights finish the muscular design.

The FR-S will be available in seven colors including Raven, Asphalt, Hot Lava, Argento, Ultramarine, Firestorm and Whiteout.

Performance-focused Interior

The FR-S’s interior includes a 2+2 seating configuration that is designed with both form and function in mind. The comfortable yet assertive front seats feature deep bolsters and are mounted extremely low, while the rear seat folds down flat, creating flexible space. It will also come standard with unique FR-S badged floor mats.

The soft-skin dash top has a “flat horizon” design, influenced by the simple purity of the Toyota 2000GT dash. At the centre of the dash top is a raised rib, which functions as a “centreline” that reflects at the base of the windshield, helping a skilled performance driver intuitively find the centre of the car.

Thank you all for a great 1st year... :-)

Hip-hop and electronic enthusiasts who are aching to hear a fresh, vibrant group on the verge of making a big splash in the

music industry need look no further; The Couch Brothers have arrived.

This group is the ultimate cybercollabo team. Forged with little more than a laptop, a microphone

and a big yellow couch, The Couch Brothers have reached a tipping point and are set to explode on to the scene.

Kazu, a self-described Japanese Gypsy constructs infallible beats dripping with electronic flavour with a Bossa Nova feel. In 2005 he hooked up with talented Dutch MC Maikal X and The Couch Brothers were

the couch brothers

born. These musicians often find themselves on completely different sides of the world from each other and thus most of their work is done through cyber communication.

Their debut album, “Electric Gypsy 2.1,” which dropped on May 25th is already making plenty of

noise within the industry. The album has 14 wicked tracks and is available on Amazon.com. Check out track number 11, This Urge; which I guarantee will melt your earbuds.

Some time ago, an idea came to mind. A thought that was ignored, then mulled over, and pushed aside. Well it is said “Who forc-

es time is pushed back by time; who yields to time finds time on his side.” — The Talmud. So there we have it. The time came for this idea to exist, and exactly a year ago Localiez Magazine came to be.

Localiez was created with a unique goal in mind. Firstly addressing the lack of support for “up and coming” talent across the board, whether it is in

music, design, or multimedia, ANYTHING worth being recognized. We see the value in supporting our homegrown talent. There are people who are so passionate about what they do. They deserve to be showcased, after all, in the world’s eye; people look to associate them with the rest of us.

Secondly, we hope to bring talents from across the world, to your attention, aiming to “localiez” them, drawing them into your own “local” circle of interests. We are the “IEZ on local talent” here at your community festival, at your local

event, wherever we need to be to support talented people across the globe. We are driven to create and express ourselves, allowing us to connect with each other, drawing us closer to one another.

This is what life is all about. Connecting, and fostering happiness, something that we all need and couldn’t live without, or at least shouldn’t. Embrace the culture of creativity and keep your “iez” on local talent.

olivia rose designs

Anna Marie Di Nicolantonio is everything at Olivia Rose Designs -- founder, direc-

tor, designer, web designer and ac-countant. She was inspired by her children to start a designer tutu col-lection in 2008. Anna saw a lot of herself in her first daughter while she was pregnant with her second,

as they both became interested in ballet at a young age.

Since starting by sewing tutus for friends, Anna has expanded into a whole collection of clothing for both children and women. It’s what she says she has always loved to do. Although Anna is broadening her business beyond just dance clothing,

she originally chose ballet because it’s close to her heart and she loves the soft, delicate fashion apparel aspect.

Olivia Rose Designs is growing in more ways than one, as Anna is also currently working with a distribution company. This could mean seeing her products in boutiques Canada

wide. For now, they are available online and through her home in Milton. Things are definitely looking bright for this busy mother and entrepreneur. She says her hope is that “when people want to buy a high-quality outfit for their daughter’s special occasion, they think of Olivia Rose Designs first.”

In the heart of downtown Kitchener lies a building with spaces for sale so open, luxurious, and pristine; it’s like owning a room in a palace.

Arrow Lofts is modern urban living in Kitchener. First built in 1913, the building became an iconic shirt factory in 1920 under Cluett Peabody Canada Inc, and manufactured ‘attached soft collars’, employing many Kitchener/Waterloo citizens and soon becoming a city hallmark.

As visitors walk through the front doors of 112 Benton St, they are greeted by spacious, high ceilings, walls of stone, and a beautiful fireplace; a great

spot for loft residence to relax and chat with one another over a cup of tea. Also located in the front lobby are a library, and a home movie theatre available for use.

From the $230’s, the lofts themselves range in size and available amenities. Some of Arrows’ standards are granite counters, engineered hardwood from Germany, and stainless steel appliances. A variety of units offer private balconies, soaring ceilings, massive windows, and original concrete columns. There aren’t many things that are lighter than air, in fact, everything on this earth has definitive mass. Though it seems as if classically trained artist Darrelle London has found a way to suspend her ethereal song

lyrics way up in the clouds.

Following her debut album Understand, which caught the attention of many including the likes of singer/songwriter Chantal Kreviazuk. Darrelle’s newest installment to her discography Eat A Peach is an offbeat indie pop album braided with just the right blend of wit and charm.

After pleasantly discussing how beautiful it’s becoming outside and deliberating over the fact that the summer months are indeed much more enjoyable than winter, I asked Darrelle about the inspiration she garnered

from T.S. Eliot’s poem, The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock. A piece that reflects on the inability for one to connect, and the distress felt while suppressing possibilities of happiness, by avoiding risks, among other things. The title Eat a Peach is an answer to Eliot’s line, “Do I dare eat a peach?” telling her listeners to dive into life, whatever it may be to them. Darrelle says that to her it means “taking a bit out of something juicy, and it might be messy and it might not be proper... but it for me it’s about taking a risk and being myself, and putting a piece of myself out there and just seeing what happens.”

It’s her outgoing mentality, along with her tireless efforts that have rewarded Darrelle with much success. She has been chosen as Bell Media’s Emerging Artist for the month of May. You can look forward to hearing her music on

radio stations across the country. With silvery high-notes and bubbly beats, Eat a Peach is a reflection of life’s sometimes complicated experiences with simplistic, beautifully crafted delivery.

Darrelle giggles as she admits she is “kind of obsessed with K’naan” and that she “would love to work with him. On YouTube, you can find her rendition of K’naan’s track “Is Anybody Out There” feat. Nelly Furtado. Also admitting she’d “love to work with Joel Plaskett,” she confesses that the Canadian musicians are at the top of her “want to jam with

list.” Now that we’ve put it out there for her, we’ll just have to wait and see where her voice travels.

“I believe in taking any opportunity I see and sending my music to anyone who might possibly like it, even if it is a slim chance. Why not? So far it’s led to some pretty great experiences,” she says, and I couldn’t agree more. Opening yourself up to opportunities even in the darkest times can lead to unforeseen triumphs, big and small. Add Darrelle’s Eat a Peach to a glass of lemonade and you’ll have yourself a sunny day with every listen, and just like her lead single, we are just “Fine” with that.

Having been to nine of Canada’s ten provinces on pre-vious trips, it was time for our family to visit New-foundland. We alloted two weeks on the island, and

alternated between camping and staying in hotels. To add to the experience of what was essentially a road trip in a minivan we packed CDs of Great Big Sea and the legendary accordion-ist Harry Hibbs.

Our method of getting there was by a ferry that we boarded in Nova Scotia. The ferry ride took about seventeen hours. Had we planned months ahead we might have been able to reserve a cabin on the ship, but ended up sleeping upright in chairs in the main lounge of the ship.

Our first stop was St. John’s, the capital of the province. It is built on a steep hill overlooking an enclosed harbour. One of the beauties of the city are the old colourful row houses and buildings.

A famous landmark in the city is George Street, a two block section of pubs near the water. This section is closed to vehicles and the pubs have various forms of live entertainment including top 40, blues and traditional Newfoundland music.

Fortunately we happened to be in town when an outdoor music festival was going on. One of the bands that played that night announced they were about to play a style of music called a reel and in an instant hundreds of people in the audience walked on to the field in front of the stage and danced a traditional Newfoundland dance as the musicians played. The power and joy of music!

During our trip we stuck to coastal roads and visited small communities along the way. My favourite route was the Irish Loop in the southeast section of the province. The terrain there was flat and wet, the road windy, and the air dense with fog. At the bottom of the Loop we stayed overnight in Trepassey Harbour. As we sat in the restaurant there eating our dinner we looked out the window and could see nothing but fog, which I found mystical. It was from here in Trepassey in 1928 that Amelia Earhart took off and became the first woman to fly across the Atlantic.

On the north coast we visited Twillingate, an old island community connected by a road from the mainland. It was here that most of my family went on a boat to go whale watching while I, being prone to seasickness, stayed behind and did laundry. After several hours on a boat they came back delighted to report they had seen two humpback whales up close.

Twillingate was also the place we saw our one iceberg. In August! On the road we had noticed a few handmade signs reading ICEBERG and followed the signs. After about fifteen minutes of driving we saw what seemed like a small rectangular iceberg in the distance in the water.

In the far northwest corner of the province is the historic community of Lands O Meadows. Historic because it was inhabited by Vikings around 1000 AD (habitation from other cultures can be traced back even further to 9000 years). A pioneer village

was recreated there to show what the habitation was like at that time.

The most mountainous section of the province is Gros Morne National Park on the west coast. It is also an area thick with moose, as the signs on the roads cautioned us frequently. At one point we stopped along the side of the road with several other cars to see moose standing in the road. A couple of the motorists took pictures and the moose stood there calmly, posing.

We set up our tent in Gros Morne. The family in the camp site next to us was a Dutch couple with a small child. They had their own tent, camping and cooking equipment and a baby seat which they purchased soon after they got off the plane. It was their first trip to Canada. Seeing the beauty of this province, I trust Newfoundland must have given them a very good first impression of our country!

Twenty-two year old Danny Reiner is the driving force behind www.bestfan.com, an exclusive fan-first entertainment website which covers everything from music and movies to fashion. Motivated by

their own enchantment for artists Danny and his team are, “rewarding fans for being fans” in a completely free online environment.

“Someone who is really fascinated with a certain artist or their career will be rewarded for being such a fan,” explains Danny. By giving away autographed merchandise, concert tickets and exclusive meet and greets, he is rewarding what he calls the “ultimate fan” with the same experiences he’d enjoy winning with one of his favorite artists, Kanye West.

As Director of Business Development, Danny oversees a staff of 25 people under the age of twenty-five, all of whom share the same passion

for the entertainment business. In just two short years, the recent Wilfred Laurier University graduate has helped shape this “hobby turned labour of love” into a certified media outlet.

Danny’s entrance into the entertainment field came with an internship placement at Chris Smith Management in Toronto after he hit the city with a handful of resumes and “knocked on the right door.” Upon being invited by Chris Smith to work on the BestFan project, Danny has taken on a leadership role.

A real inspiration to young individuals aspiring to work in the entertainment field, Danny attributes his success to his ambitious nature, and true passion for music.

Sharon Liverpool, proprietor and vintner has been the proud owner of Carafe Wine Makers since May 2004, in Milton Ontario.

In the beginning, Sharon and her husband Pat shared an interest in wine making, something that they enjoyed doing together before becoming apart of the business.

Sharons’ decision to step into sole proprietorship came at a time where the job market was drastically changing.

Making a move into the business world was not only out of passion for wine making but, out of the desire to acquire something that she could call her own.

Sharon shared with Localiez that not only is there a sense of pride that comes along with producing your own batch of wine, but there are also benefits that emerge from three sources. 1) Tax savings as a result of the work you do. 2) The absence of retail store mark-ups. 3) You store and age your wine instead of the winery.

Make know mistake, enthusiasts can create the very same wines found at your LCBO, and at 30 bottles per batch ranging from $113- $200, you cannot deny how cost effective wine making can be.

With Sharons’ guidance, the process is quiet simple.

1) Choose your favorite wine variety. There are three basic formats that are defined by the length of time it takes to make them. Four week batches require little aging where 6 and 8 week batches can take up to a year to bring out the best flavour and aromas.

2) Start the fermentation process- this takes only about 5-10 minutes

3) Processing of your wine is under the care of Sharon, who is trained and equipped to handle the steps of stabilizing, clarifying and filtering to get your wine ready for bottling.

4) Once again with the guidance of Sharon, bottling takes place. This process can be completed in only 30 to 40 minutes.

Now is the time to start your very own batch of wine to enjoy throughout the summer season and many seasons to come!

Officially opening in 1959, the Milton District Hospital was built to provide healthcare for Milton and the surrounding communities. The original building was then expanded in the 1980’s creating a

hospital equipped to support the community at that time, which was ap-proximately 30,000 people. Since then, population growth in Milton has exploded, evidenced by Milton being named the fastest growing community in Canada in both the 2006 and 2011 federal census. A future expansion of Milton District Hospital which will “right size” healthcare in Milton is now in the planning stages with patient care currently expected to begin in 2018. In the meantime, Milton District Hospital Foundation continues to raise money in the community to purchase essential medical equipment for Milton District Hospital.

Milton District Hospital Foundation is a registered charity, founded in 1980 to be the fundraising arm of Milton District Hospital and provide the framework for the community to give to its hospital.

The simple fact that one day anyone of us or our friends or family could be in need of healthcare services is a great reason to give happily and support our hospital. This is the reason why we at Localiez Magazine have chosen to support MDHF by helping to spread the word, and hopefully providing you with insight and ideas about how to take part. Here is what the Foundation had to say.

Why is it important for those in the community to support Milton District Hospital Foundation?

• MDHF’s mandate is to raise funds to purchase equipment for Milton District Hospital.

• All funds raised in Milton STAY in Milton

• Supporting the Hospital is like insurance. With strong community support the hospital will have the best healthcare possible for your family and friends when it is needed in an emergency

Tell us something we don’t know but should

• Last August, we received the exciting announcement of the expansion of the Milton Hospital site of Halton Healthcare Services. The more recent news of a grant of $22.5 million from the Province earlier in April will

support the costs for planning and designing the 320,000-square-foot expansion. The expansion plans, announced by the Minister of Health do not change Milton District Hospital Foundation’s focus on raising funds for essential equipment today! Once purchased, it will benefit patients now and in the future!

• There is still a great deal of work ahead of us as we work toward this new redevelopment that more than triples the size of our hospital. We look forward to sharing more news as we work together to grow our hospital to meet the healthcare needs of Milton families in our own community!

Who are the individuals that work behind the scenes at the foundation?

• MDHF is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors who give their time and talents to govern and support MDHF. We are also very grateful for the many volunteers who sit on our special event committees.

• MDHF has 5 Staff members who work together to perform the day-to-day operations of the Foundation as directed by the Board of Directors. Staff include:

Helen Vatistas, Executive Directoranne Zujko, Development Managerellen Van DooDewaarD, Annual Giving and Communications Associatesonya Marques, Communications and Event Administratorjennifer Gibson, Donor Relations Administrator

Why is being part of the foundation rewarding, exciting and fulfilling?

It is very satisfying to be able to work with many leaders in our community who share our passion for philanthropy and giving back to the community and the hospital that they love.

Visit the MDHF website (www.mdhf.ca) to find out the many ways you can give and share in this great effort. You can keep up to date with events and news by following @MDH_Foundation on twitter and checking out their Facebook page (www.facebook.com/MiltonDistrictHospitalFoundation). Supporting MDHF is paramount in the continued success of Milton District Hospital, so even if it isn’t much, it all makes a difference. Your donations are a blessing and are appreciated greatly. Milton-based actor Jai Jai Jones recently caught up with Lo-caliez magazine to share some

of his experiences in the TV and film in-dustry, as well as to dispense his intimate wisdom with aspiring actors.

“As much as this is a cliché, it’s just so true, you’re going to get out what you put into it,” he explains. Paired with a “never give up” attitude, Jai Jai’s driven personality has led him to great individual successes, including a trip to the Cannes Film festival. “Being able to go to France with everybody who’s sharing the same dream as you… that was a really great experience for a young actor.”

Though he enjoys the challenge of playing multiple ranges, Jai Jai particularly likes playing the evil character, partially to take real-life frustrations and rid them artistically. He says he would one day like to work with Robert De Niro or Edward Norton, finding them two of the most versatile actors in Hollywood; an acting quality he highly values.

“Versatility is I think the greatest tool an actor can have, so I don’t shy away from it.”

Jai Jai has a Christmas movie coming out at the end of the year titled “Desperately Seeking Santa”. It’s set to air on the ABC network.

MOVIE REVIEW

The Hunger Games is about a dystopian society in the future that randomly selects children to fight each other to the death,

then broadcasts the ordeal for the entire nation to see once each year. It’s impossible to talk about the Hunger Games movie without mentioning the book, since the movie is the novel come to life. Of course the two cannot be exactly alike,

and should be considered separately to some de-gree, which is why I felt the film was as true as it could be and turned out quite well.

I would say The Hunger Games is an engaging movie, regardless of the hype surrounding this trilogy. The acting is surprisingly good, the costumes are stunningly detailed, and the story moves at a generally exciting pace. I thought

the characters came across strong, in particular Stanley Tucci as the games announcer who helped shed light on the background of the story.

Some scenes are quite violent which could be frightening for a younger audience, and the movie is extremely long though for the most part exciting. Even when you think you know what’s about to happen, you probably don’t.

AlexisIs A Summer Fling Your Thing? Well, you’re only young once! Make

this summer your time to shine as the fearless femme you have always wanted to be, or the hunk that ladies swoon after. The secret? Casual

confidence! If you see something you like, go for it! There is no need for grandeur gestures, instead let your friendly and fun side shine through by striking up a convo in line at the beach concession stand. Conversation starting is difficult for some people, so be aware that it won’t end in an ex-change of numbers every time. Simply keep practicing and keep things light so you don’t come across as pushy or awkward. And above all, remember to always play safe!

Say Yes To Everything! #SYTE. YES, you read correctly, and NO this does not belong in the section above. “Say yes to everything!” is not a

shiny invitation to be scandalous --unless you want one! SYTE is intended to combat our natural tendency to decline invitations with weak excuses. How many times have you bailed on a night out because you were “tired” or “sick”? This summer, challenge yourself to say yes to every invitation that you receive--within reason. A cutie wants to grab coffee? Done! A friend needs company on a road trip? Why not? Get yourself out there and push your limits. If your excursions do not go as planned, think of all the jokes to be had when you retell the stories to friends and family.

I can’t wait to hear all about your summer flings and fun! Hit me up on FB at Alexis AskAnything or via email at [email protected].

Are you sick about hearing of The Hunger Games and Fifty Shades of Grey? Don’t get me wrong, these are fantastic reads but it doesn’t exactly take a rocket scientist (or this most excellent book reviewer)

to tell you to go out and give those books a whirl. This issue Localiez is going out of the ordinary book fare with unique selections from Simon & Schuster and Harper Collins.

Book Clubs: The Memory Palace by Mira Bartok

This issue’s book club pick is The Memory Palace by Mira Bartok. This memoir covers Mira’s experience growing up with a mother who suffers from schizophrenia. Each of Mira’s memories is presented by creating links to pictures within her brain. Bartok creates a Memory Palace -- a museum of sorts with artistic photos and objects prompting Mira’s recall of the past.

As the story unfolds, Mira and her sister suffer challenges at the hands of their mom’s mental illness. Eventually, Mira’s mother’s extreme behaviour drives the girls to go underground by changing their names and moving cities thereby abandoning their mother to a life on the streets. Despite the rocky upbringing, both daughters find success within the artistic community however their secret to success is not well defined. It seems that Bartok attributes their success to the genius within their family. With highly talented albeit disturbed parents, the children were exposed to the nuances of the art world at young ages.

During a lengthy hiatus from her mother, Mira continues to struggle with guilt regarding their relationship. When Mira suffers a traumatic brain injury, her sensitivity to her mother’s plight is heightened. Eventually she pursues reconnecting with her mother in an attempt to alleviate her guilt and move forward with her own personal relationships.

If you’re looking for an author with a fresh perspective and a highly creative way of looking at the world, this selection is for you. Readers who enjoyed previous LOCALIEZ selection – Between the Lines by Amy Hatvany, will find The Memory Palace to make a great companion read.

Beach Bums: The Taliban Cricket Club by Timeri N. Murari

The Taliban Cricket Club is a fictional novel based on an obscure historical truth -- the Taliban briefly promoted cricket in Afghanistan. However despite the seemingly dire subject, The Taliban Cricket Club maintains a light-hearted feel throughout the book. The main character, Rukhsana, is a spirited

young lady that seeks to take action where she can to defy the Taliban regime. She gathers a motley crew of cousins to participate in a state sponsored cricket tournament where the first prize is training abroad. The family team is hopeful that the tournament will be their ticket out of the country. The Taliban Cricket Club slowly evolves as the reader progresses from the usual story of Taliban tyranny to the most unusual stories of ways to defy it. The first half and second half of the novel have two distinct feels with the latter half being a more entertaining read. Although predictable, The Taliban Cricket Club is a hodgepodge of enchanting themes varying from controversial politics to action packed sports to hopeful romance. It is an enjoyable and breezy read perfect for the summer weather. Recommended for those who enjoy chick lit but are looking to diversify into books with cross-cultural themes.

The Color of Tea by Hannah Tunnicliffe

Readers that enjoyed titles such as The Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood, The Honk and Holler Opening Soon, and even The Secret Life of Bees, are sure to enjoy Tunnicliffe’s The Color of Tea. The Color of Tea was not what I expected. Although the book takes place in Macau, a rarely discussed locale, the story could really have happened anywhere...even in your own hometown. You will not find elaborate descriptions of Macau or even the culinary delights that Gracie serves up but what you will find is a tale of sisterhood. Grace struggles through the acceptance of her own infertility and relives her own mother-daughter bonds throughout the novel. This struggle transcends into her marriage as well. As Grace searches for something more out of life, she dares to open her own business - Lillian’s, a divine cafe serving macaroons. It is there that she meets a cast of characters with whom she forms strong friendships. The challenges of each woman will have you enthralled. When you close this book, you’ll find yourself missing the ladies already. An entertaining summer read for chick lit fans with a charming compliment of characters that will endear themselves to you quickly.

Stayed tuned for the next issue revealing more exciting reads from Simon & Schuster and Harper-Collins.

Happy Reading!

Common Materials for Homemade Climbing Wall Designs - Alex Brancier.• 3/4” plywood • 2x4, 2x6, 2x8• 3” and 4” self tapping screws• lag bolts, washers, nuts• 1/2”x6” and 1/2’x7” carriage bolts• joist hangers• t-nuts

• work table and/or 2 saw horses• paint, sand, drop cloth, roller, roller frame,

5 gal bucket / roller screen, brushes, sand for texture

• straps with a cinching device• L Straps• I Straps• 4” Thick Solid Poly Filled Safety Mat

Transition your model’s dimensions to a drawing. Start the drawing as a simple sketch. The purpose of the

sketch is to define dimensions. You can ei-ther use a computer aided design software or draw it by hand. If you can define all di-mensions mathematically you may not need to make a computerized scale drawing. Some angles and shapes may be too difficult to calculate, so you may need to draw portions of the wall at an accurate scale and take the

dimensions directly form the climbing wall’s design drawing.

Label how far each joint or edge is from the last joint or edge. Reference distances to an existing structure, like a wall, ceiling or floor. Establish all distances, angles, and dimensions. Allow for the width of the anchoring structure, thickness of the wall studs and thickness of plywood sheathing. For more information go to http://www.indoorclimbing.com/bouldering_design.html
