If you use Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, or any Social Networking Community website, you may want to take a closer look at your privacy settings. The US-CERT, (United States Computer Readiness Team), offers some good tips on staying safe on social network sites. Among the important tips is simply recognizing that information you post on the web for your friends to read may be open for the world to read.

Local residents are responsible for voting on a winner, and we suspect that a few of the News Advocate's readers must be members because this is the 5th consecutive time Filer Credit Union has been selected as Manistee County's best financial!

We are, of course, tremendously grateful to this community which has provided us the opportunity to serve its residents for almost 70 years, and we will contin-ue working to improve both our community and our organization by donating our time and talents to worthy local causes and striving forward with an attitude of continual self-improvement in everything we do.
