Props and Location
Prop Required Scene Any other information
Rationale (why have you chosen this?)
Hair brush, wardrobe, mirror
When she tries to change her appearance
It suits our target audience of being young women, they can relate to this as it is highly likely that they have sung into a hairbrush before, pretending to be pop stars.
We have chosen this as it is a light hearted scene
Fairy lights When the lyrics say ‘want you to take me like a thief in the night’ we will decorate trees/bushes with fairy lights and film and night
Links to the lyrics, creates a nice effect and can be edited well with jump cuts
It’s creative, suits our target audience as it is entertaining and enjoyable to watch
Make-up When she tries to change her appearance
Audience can too experiment with their looks
Audience may also be going through changes can relate, promoting make-up brands which links to the pop genre
Flower head band and bag
Through the earlier shots and the scene when she is dating him st the end
Illustrates the artist is clean cut but has an edgy side to her which is shown through her fashion
To show her fashion, hippy/fashionable this illustrates our brand image
Location Required Scene Any other information (bookings etc)
Rationale (why has this location been chosen?)
West Park Bridge Establishing shot to show the ex-girlfriend and the potential
Phoned up the Council and sent out e-mails for permission to film
This location was chosen as it is typically a romantic scene and
boyfriend the location reflects this
West Park Band Stage When the artist and dancers perform their dance
Phoned up the Council and sent out e-mails for permission to film
It is an ideal location as it is a stage and therefore adheres to the pop music video genre, it is also a creative way to present our artist as the location is unique
Local Arcade One of the last scenes when the artist is dating the ‘potential boyfriend’
Phoned up the arcade and sent out e-mails
It is to show that they are going on dates, their relationship is progressing and that they are having fun with the activities provided such as bowling, fruit machine etc…
Bedroom When the artist is changing her appearance and is singing into a hair brush
This will take place at either me or Jess’s house
It is relateable to the audience and is ideal for costume changes as it would be difficult to do this a high street changing room, as it would be difficult not to film members of the public
Dance Studio One of the earlier scenes when the artist and dancers are rehearsing their dance
We will need to notify the leisure centre to allow us to use their facilities
This suits the pop genre and allows the audience to learn the dance and relate this dance to our music video, it also makes the chorus more memorable
School Stage When the artist and dancers perform their dance
We will need to notify the school to allow us to use their facilities
Links to the above, and it will provide variation when we edit from the dance studio to the school stage, we will make it look professional by using the stage light and black back drop so as to not make it look like a school but a professional stage
Garden When the lyrics say ‘want you to take me like a thief in the night’
This will take place at either me or Jess’s house
It follows the lyrics as we will film at night, and it is a creative and
we will decorate trees/bushes with fairy lights and film and night
fun idea
