Advantages of locationHaving a completely black room gives me a lot of variety to my video and allows me to get great shots of my artist lip-syncing the lyrics to my chosen song. With the use of lights I will be able to make the artist the main subject in a very dark room giving emphasis on him and the lyrics he’s singing. It is a controlled environment therefore I can make changes in my favour to fit the video how I like.

Location Considerations (problems, timings, permission etc)The ‘black box’ is in fact a drama studio and is used as a classroom throughout the day from Monday to Friday therefore any use of this room for media shoots needs to be after school. There is very high demand for the room, which is why you need to book a day in order to use it, so I would need to book in advance for a day both my artist and I are able to make. Another potential issue is that I would have to make the lighting in the room perfect so that everything but the subject is blacked out and you cant see anything in the background such as door handles.

Advantages of locationThis location is very beneficial for the ideas I have for my music video. It is a very large skatepark providing a broad range of different ramps allowing for my other artist, Tom to perform many different tricks. In addition to this, it is an indoor skatepark, which means that there will be no issues with weather and it is well lit inside also so it is accessible in darker hours. More importantly they allow people to film inside free of charge therefore it will be easy to get all the clips I want.

Location Considerations (problems, timings, permission etc)Some issues with this location are as follows. Firstly, the location, Hemel Hempstead. It isn’t too far but far enough to make it a challenging journey especially during times like rush hour however my artist works Monday to Friday and is only available after 5pm. Furthermore, ideally it would be great so have an empty skatepark with just Tom riding in however this is a public place which is busy a lot of the time therefore if there are a considerable amount of people in the park during our time there it may make filming a lot more difficult and I may not get all the clips that I need.
