We will be filming here for some background footage of students studying. We want to put the camera on wheels and move the camera backwards thus slowly filming more an more students studying. We figured this would look more effective using different styles of filming rather than just sticking to static shots. This would be effective when we are providing information about studying or homework and time being taken up etc. as it proves what we’re saying if we show the students doing it.

• We could use this location for more than one shot. We could use it as a good background for Vox pops with student who are in the library at that time and also for background footage. The background footage could involve a close up shot following a students hand flicking through the books or swiping across with their finger possibly as were speaking about school work.

• There is a variety of different books here which are based on the pressures teens go through. We thought we could write in the script for the presenter to mention gap years, anxiety, study skills, university etc. and as she says this we can do a birds eye view shot focusing on the book titles or dropping the books onto the table to make it more effective and give the viewer something to look at

• This is meant to be a board to help students know what to prepare for and what they can do to develop themselves but we thought it looks pretty stressful and we could use it by following it round with the camera and zooming into each title whilst saying it in a sharp tone to represent the amount of things students have to deal with at such a young age.

• This is where we will be carrying out the interview with Emma Hurst, the careers officer. We feel by doing the interview in her own work place it will come across more reliable as the viewers can tell that she is actually the careers officer. It also looks more professional and is a quiet place to film, therefore we will hopefully have no background noise to worry about.

• We felt we could use this as a blurred out slow motion background for when we put statistics up to add more of an effect rather than a plain bckground.

Sixth form signWe want to use this when describing our setting as being in the sixth form. We want to make it look like we are visitors into the sixth form and for poof were there we feel showing the sign will be good background footage.

ReceptionWe would place the camera in a different place, possibly on the reception desk to film the students walking in a busy time of the day, to blur out the students walking and put them in slow motion, whilst we put writing/facts/stats over the top of them. This will look more effective than just a plain background and fits in with the context of students.

Student councillor officeAs we are having an interview with Julie Maitland, the college councillor, we want to film in her place of work to look more professional and give an insight to who she is/what she does by showing her in her surroundings. We had the idea of doing a point of view clip of one of us walking in fast-motion and ten knocking on her door to make it look like the viewers are on the journey with us.

Student photosWe felt this would be a good background to film a Vox pop in as it shows students working hard/ doing good. The is could also be used as background footage just to fill in gaps whilst were talking about students hobbies they have to destress etc.

Tree

We felt this tree would be some good footage with students studying underneath it. We have seen many students study under here before and it just looks like a nice setting to film

whiteboardWe want to write our introductory title to the documentary and write our interview/vox pop questions on. We feel writing it on a whiteboard fits into the context of students and it looks a bit more creative than words just on a screen.
