Location Scouts I have chosen to shoot in a variety of locations where I feel the mood of my opening will be able to be portrayed. Location 1: Scene 1 - Prison Exterior Stock Footage Shot Due to laws around shooting the exterior of a prison, it is not possible for me to have my own establishing shot of a prison. I therefore am going to find a piece of stock footage to use and edit to suit my own needs. Location 2: Scenes 2, 4 & 8 - Prison Socialisation Room Gym at Kings Norton Girls School I have chosen to use the gym because I feel as though it is able to represent a room in a prison which the prisoners would be allowed to socialise in. I intend to cover the window which is in shot with a piece of material so as any students who walk past outside are not caught in my shot. The photo included is a photograph of a gym which I found on the internet which looks similar to our gym due to the fact that we are on half term break at the moment. Location 3: Scenes 3, 7 & 9 - Disused Warehouse Disused Bingo Hall on Kings Heath High Street I plan to use this location in order to connote the idea that my location is bare and empty to help signify that it is a disused warehouse- like building. Due to the fact that it is on a busy high street I will have to remove all sound from these scenes to avoid background noise - however this isn’t a problem because there is no dialogue. I intend to shoot at

I have chosen to shoot in a variety of locations where I feel the mood of my opening will be able to be portrayed.

Location 1: Scene 1 - Prison ExteriorStock Footage ShotDue to laws around shooting the exterior of a prison, it is not possible for me to have my own establishing shot of a prison. I therefore am going to find a piece of stock footage to use and edit to suit my own needs.

Location 2: Scenes 2, 4 & 8 - Prison Socialisation RoomGym at Kings Norton Girls SchoolI have chosen to use the gym because I feel as though it is able to represent a room in a

prison which the prisoners would be allowed to socialise in. I intend to cover the window which is in shot with a piece of material so as any students who walk past outside are not caught in my shot. The photo included is a photograph of a gym which I found on the internet which looks similar to our gym due to the fact that we are on half term break at the moment.

Location 3: Scenes 3, 7 & 9 - Disused WarehouseDisused Bingo Hall on Kings Heath High StreetI plan to use this location in order to connote the idea that my location is bare and empty to help signify that it is a disused warehouse-like building. Due to the fact that it is on a busy high street I will have to remove all sound from these scenes to avoid background noise - however this isn’t a problem because there is no dialogue. I intend to shoot at around sunset/dusk time so as the natural lighting is eerie and mysterious, this time would also reduce the chance of cars being present meaning that I can make the scene look even more disused and neglected.

Location 4: Scene 5 - Dark CornerPhotography Studio at Kings Norton Girls SchoolI am using the photography studio to shoot a scene of Richard cowering in the corner, I have chosen the photography studio as the location for this because due to the nature of the location I am able to adjust the lighting and other elements which will help to give the scene

a certain feeling. I then also have the opportunity to go into the dark room to shoot if I cannot get the lighting to m desired level. I do not have a photograph of this location because it is a standard photography studio location.

Location 5: Scene 6 - Train Station RampTrain Station Ramp at Kings Norton StationI have chosen to use this location because it is close to school meaning we won’t have to carry equipment very far. The ramp is also in a secluded back entrance meaning that we are not as likely to be disturbed during filming and we also won’t disturb as many people while they are travelling. It is very difficult to find an image of the ramp due to Google Maps not going that far and there being no images on the Internet - the entrance to the ramp (on Station Road) is marked by a circle on the image on the right.
