What will the curricular pathway be?

You will still be working to complete your a-g requirements in all academies.

We are maintaining most of our current

elective offerings including music, art, drama, digital art, and JROTC. We are adding Chicano literature and African American literature.

We are expanding AP and honors offerings.

If your academy does not offer an elective or AP class you want, it will be possible to take that class at another academy.

All of our current athletic programs will continue.

Locke High Rollers is coming back. Clubs and activities are being developed and discussed.

How will we address safety?

Although some students will have new classmates and teachers, we will still have a small school model with comprehensive supervision and security.

We will continue to mediate conflicts to keep the school safe.

Each school will have a Dean of Students, Campus Security Officers and a CRST Officer.

We will continue to have a Sheriff’s Deputy on campus as well.Locke Wellness Center will grow in scope to support emotional safety and provide medical services for free to students.

Will there be an opportunity to interact with other academies?

Yes. After school and athletic programs are open to all academies including 9th grade students.

We are planning a number of “One Locke” activities. Our first events will be in late May 2013!

A campus-wide student leadership/ government body is being designed with input from some of your peers. (ASB)

A peer mentor group is being developed to connect upperclassmen to our 9th Grade Academy students.
