A logic analyser is an electronic instrument that captures
and displays multiple signals from a digital system or digital
circuit.
INTRODUCTION
5
Presently, there are three distinct categories of logic
analysers available in the market:
1. MODULAR logic analyser
2. PORTABLE logic analyser
3. PC BASED logic analyser
TYPES OF LOGIC ANALYSER
6
MODULAR LOGIC ANALYSER
MODULAR LAS, consist of both a mainframe and logic
analyser modules.
The mainframe contains the display, controls, control
computer, and multiple slots into which the actual data-
capturing hardware is installed.
While LAs modules each have a specific number of
channels, and multiple modules may be combined to obtain
a very high channel count.
Modular logic analysers are typically more expensive.
7
PORTABLE LOGIC ANALYSER
Portable logic analysers integrate everything into a single
package, with options installed at the factory.
While portable logic analysers generally have lower
performance than their modular counterparts, they are often
used for general purpose debugging by cost conscious users.
8
PC BASED LOGIC ANALYSER
The hardware connects to a computer through
a USB or Ethernet connection and relays the captured
signals to the software on the computer.
These devices are typically much smaller and less expensive
because they make use of a PC's existing keyboard, display
and CPU, as compared to portable logic analysers which
must provide their own versions of all of that hardware.

INTRODUCTION
An arbitrary waveform generator (AWG) is an
advanced signal generator that can generate a waveform of
almost any shape.
Unlike function generators, AWGs can generate any
arbitrarily defined wave shape as their output.
AWG allows the user to specify a source waveform in a
variety of different ways.

Wave Analyser is an instrument designed to measure the
relative amplitude of single frequency components, in
complex waveform.
Wave Analyser are special types of spectrum analyser or
Advanced spectrum analyser.
