ITC KABEL STDThis font is available in a number of
weights that allows versatility across a
wide range of designed and printed
applications.
The main Kabel Std font is ITC Kabel Std
Book. ITC Kabel Std Book or as a extra
option Avenir should be used for most
branding materials, both print and online
if possible. For headers or important text,
use ITC Kabel Std Bold or Avenir Heavyv
font.
Webpages can be an exception, the
range of fonts that webmasters can
select for webpages are not as wide
as other programs. For that reason,
Arial is the best selection on website
pages.

Thank you for taking the time to read about our organization. We
at the Tarrant Regional Water District now have a 90-year history
of providing a reliable and sustainable water supply, vital flood
protection and outstanding recreational opportunities to the
public. We take these responsibilities very seriously because they
directly impact our way of life and enrich the communities where
we work, live and play.
In this publication you will find more detail about our progress
during the last year as well as learn about the projects and initiatives
we have planned to ensure TRWD is meeting the future needs of
the communities we serve.
On behalf of the TRWD Board of Directors and our dedicated
employees, we appreciate the opportunity to serve you.
Sincerely,
Victor W. Henderson
TRWD Board President
During a typical year, 85 percent of the water TRWD provides to its primary wholesale customers comes from Cedar Creek and Richland-Chambers lakes. As you can imagine, pumping millions of gallons per day through large pipelines can use a lot of energy and is expensive, which is why TRWD engineers apply innovative maintenance techniques and cost reduction solutions.
Without a reliable raw water supply, meeting current and future water needs would be jeopardized. TRWD is already planning ahead by partnering with the City of Dallas to build the Integrated Pipeline, which will allow the district to pump an additional 200 million gallons per day to Tarrant County.
Another innovative water supply project is TRWD’s George W. Shannon Wetlands Water Reuse Project at Richland-Chambers Lake. In the future, the district will have enough wetlands to clean and deliver nearly or as much water as the largest lake in our system. It also provides a high quality habitat for many types of reptiles, amphibians, mammals and migratory birds.
TRWD’s proactive water conservation efforts are helping save an average of 100 million gallons per day. Education outreach efforts with our customers and other regional partners provide water saving tips and w e e k l y
WAT E R SUPPLY
TRWD is one of the largest water suppliers in the state, providing raw water to more than 30
wholesale customers in North Central Texas, including the cities of Fort Worth, Arlington, Mansfield and the Trinity River Authority. The district’s four lakes – Bridgeport, Eagle Mountain, Cedar Creek and Richland-Chambers – are all part of a system that meets the water needs in our 11-county service area.
The district delivers that water to its customers’ water treatment plants and storage lakes in Tarrant County where the cities then treat the water and supply more than 2 million residents.
TRWD has partnered with
the City of Dallas to build a 150-mile
pipeline to East Texas that will benefit our region
for decades. The Integrated Pipeline, or IPL as it is known,
allows TRWD to move additional water from Richland-Chambers and
Cedar Creek lakes to meet our needs in Tarrant County, and gives Dallas
access to untapped water supplies at Lake Palestine. The IPL will also
make our system even more resilient, especially during times of drought
or when maintenance is needed on our system. By sharing resources on
this much-needed water supply project, TRWD and Dallas will
save a combined $1 billion in construction and operating
costs during the life of the project.
