Althoughhighresolutionoffersthepossibilitytoprintsharperlinesandtext,thesurfaceofthematdeterminestheultimatelevelofdefinitionthatyoucanachieve.Thesurfacerangesfromasmoothvelour,openvelourorfriezefinishingoftuftedyarns.

Colour mode / colour profile ThedesigninworkingspacesmustbeassignedtoAdobeRGB(1998).IfthedesignisinCMYK,LABorgreyscale,itmustbeconvertedtoAdobeRGB(1998).Considerwhensaving,thatAdobeRGB(1998)profileisembedded.

Bleeds, borders and overprintMakesurethedesignisnottooclosetothebordersduetopossibleoverprint.Theminimumspacearoundthedesign(bleed)shouldbeatleast1cm.

Wedon'trecommenddesigningaborderaroundthedesign.Thebackingofthematisblackandextendsapproximatelytwocentimetresoneachside,thematcouldshiftslightlyduringprintingandadesignedbordermaynotalignpreciselywiththebacking.Ifyourequireaborderorwouldliketoprintallthewaytotheedges,weadvisetotakealargersizemat.Itwillthenbecuttosizeandtherewillbenoriskofanoverprintandmissingorunevenborders.

Toensurethebestcolourrepresentationontheselectedmat,ourdesignteamwillselecttheclosestmatchinideallightingcircumstances.Somespotcolourslendthemselvesperfectlytobeingreproducedusingtheextendedprocesscolours,whereasotherscancauseslightproblemsinthatthematchisnotperfect.Ifacolourisoutofthegamutofthecolourrange,theclosestmatchorsubstitutionwilloccurandaphotowillbesentofthenearestcolourmatchforapproval.
