“From what we get, we can make a living. With what we give, we can make a life.”- Lois Schneider

Since its inception nearly 40 years ago, Lois Schneider Realtor has sponsored, funded and supported more than 300 non-profit and community organizations, many over multiple years, with contributions totaling over $1 million. Lois Schneider Realtor also enjoys decades of being a principal sponsor of many annual community events.

Philanthropy is a core value at Lois Schneider Realtor. We are proud of our history as a leading supporter of many local non-profit community organizations while successfully opening doors to thousands of new homebuyers along the way.

The LSR difference is that it goes beyond passive giving. We are active participants in every aspect of each event or organization we support; our sales associates become volunteers, docents and

promoters; our company provides supplies where needed and creates an advertising presence that enhances the organizations, many of which are charitable, educational and community-based.

“The more you give to the community, the more that community benefits and returns the good will,” Lois always said. Her fervent belief was that generosity is good for business, our local community and its residents.

Since Lois passed away in 2012, her daughter Karen has assumed the role of President of the company. She continues to embody the commitment to quality and abiding generosity in every aspect of the business, keeping Lois Schneider Realtor the preeminent community supporter and local powerhouse that it is today.

LuxuryRealEstate.com CEO/Publisher John Brian Losh presented Lois Schneider with the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008, stating “As the leader of one of the most successful brokerages in New Jersey for more than 30 years and a supporter of many good causes that benefit her community,

Lois Schneider is certainly worthy of this prestigious award.”

Since the inception of the Summit Luminary Fund, each year Lois Schneider Realtor

has been the underwriter of this magical event. More than $60,000 was raised last

year to benefit worthy local organizations who brighten the lives of many in need.

Our very best wishes for a wonderful holiday season.

The Summit streets will be aglow with luminaries once again!

The Annual Summit Luminary Fund Project began 33 years ago and has grown into a successful community effort that, this year, raised over $63,000 for local charities. Over 30,000 luminaries were purchased in an effort to line the streets of Summit on December 24th with a gorgeous glow. This beautiful sight, and the spirit of community that it represents, makes Summit a special place to live.

Since the inception of the Summit Luminary Fund, Lois Schneider Realtor has been the underwriter of this magical event. “We are proud to work with the Summit Luminary Fund and the non-profit beneficiaries that contribute so much to our town. At Lois Schneider Realtor we are committed to

helping support their work. We’d like to thank Summit Luminary Fund President, Barbara Romano for her continued hard work and dedication, as well as all the area leaders and volunteers,” stated Karen Schneider, President of Lois Schneider Realtor. Barbara Romano and Karen Schneider presented checks to the following beneficiaries: Senior Connections, Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad, The Valerie Fund’s Camp Happy Times, SHIP Summit Helping Its People, SAGE Eldercare Spend-A-Day, Summit Santa Claus Shop, ABC Area Baby Center, Bridges’ Summit School Supply Drive, and Christ Child Society of Summit Layette Program.

Lois Schneider Realtor is Lead Sponsor of The Summit Junior Fortnightly Club’s 37th annual tot trot

A Summit Tradition Where Kids Run FirstThis year will be the 37th annual Summit Tot Trot, a fun-filled field event where kids between the ages of two and ten run, race and have a ball. Created by the Summit Junior Fortnightly Club, the Tot Trot has grown from a memorable annual event into a meaningful Summit tradition that celebrates the spirit of community caring and fun.

Children who came out for the event in the early days are parents who enter their own children in this wonderful Memorial Field event.

It Takes a VillageTwo years after opening its doors in 1976, Lois Schneider Realtor opened its heart as the lead sponsor of the Tot Trot. Well-known for its philosophy of generous community giving, the company has been a major benefactor of this event for almost 40 years. The partnership, forged between the Junior Fortnightly Club’s Tot Trot and Lois Schneider Realtor, has resulted in significant grants over the years to an amazing variety of non-profit organizations in our area, including this year’s recipient, The Valerie Fund.

The Valerie FundCoincidentally, The Valerie Fund, established in 1976, the same year as Lois Schneider Realtor, was born in the New Jersey basement of the Goldstein family whose daughter, Valerie, succumbed to cancer. A group of benevolent friends supported the wish that no family should have to endure Valerie’s arduous treatment alone.

The proceeds raised from the Tot Trot event will benefit The Valerie Center, the esteemed children’s center dedicated to the health care of children with cancer and blood disorders. Also a past recipient has been the well-established Valerie Fund’s Camp Happy Times, with a proud 30-year history of providing a one-week overnight camp experience for children five through 21 who have or have had cancer.

With an aptly named theme of ‘KIDS RUNNING FOR KIDS,” this year’s Tot Trot event is anticipating a record turnout.
