SALARIES House prices are now 11.1 times the average London NHS salary (gross) compared to 8.4 times the average London NHS salary 5 years ago The average London rent equates to 66% of an average London nurse and 63% of the average London NHS worker’s take home wage Despite salaries increasing over the five years, they have not been keeping pace with the relative costs of transport and accommodation Nurses’ salaries increased by 3.5% Salaries across the NHS in London have increased by 3.8% Healthcare assistant pay increased the least at 0.9% 7-day 4-zone travel card has increased by 25% Average London house prices have risen by over 37% Rents have increased by nearly 25% Outer London rents have increased by nearly 30% TRANSPORT HOUSING DISTANCE FROM WORK 21% of London-based NHS employees now living outside of London IMPACT There are over 10,000 nursing vacancies in London - that’s 17%.
