Fundraising Group update…. Last year a number of fundraising initiatives were carried out to raise funds for additional teaching staff. This was brought about due to an unavoidable high number of students in Rooms Eiffelton & Flemington during 2015. Miss G and Mrs Price were excellent additions to the classrooms to support Mrs McFarlane and Miss Yeatman. So planning ahead for 2016 fundraising was underway from May 2015 with linseed straw sales, a trivia night and rugby score tickets. The final tally of fundraising was $9,092. A fantastic effort which couldn’t have been achieved without the amazing support of so many in the community. So thanks to everyone who was involved in some way. This is a significant contribution and made a real difference to the classrooms and students. From fundraising group Peter Edwards, Nicole Williams, Jo Taylor, Deanna Walsh

Big giant soldiers made brave and strong, World War veterans put in uniforms. Bullets going everywhere it’s just a deep dark nightmare that has now turned into a fear. The big giant soldiers building their forts, saving the land hoping this works. Using all they’ve got in weeks and time contributes to the people that have suddenly died, fighting for the countries that are on their side that leads to a big thank you with loads of pride. Though now it’s turned into history, big giant soldier’s had died to be free.

Community Notices…

The Willowby Community Swimming Pool is now closed. A huge thank you needs to go out to all the families and community members who bought keys, and who used and supported the pool throughout the summer. The pool has proved to be a great community gathering place and has provided hours of entertainment and fun for everyone that used it. The total upgrade of the pool has cost $70,300.00 and the cost for running the pool over summer is approximately $4000.00. Again a huge thank you needs to go out to all those who donated time, materials and contributed in the form of sponsorship, we couldn’t have done it without you! We look forward to seeing you all back when the pool reopens at the end of the year. The Willowby Community Swimming Pool Committee.
