We are grateful to God for his blessings to make the concert happen. We also thank the audience for their attendance and supports to the 2007 Mid-year Concert Jakarta Children & Youth Chorus.

We thank God for this 2007 Mid-Year Concert, without whose grace from God Almighty, it is impossible for our children to perform.
The children’s performance is enabled with the hard-working of Mr. Rizal.A. Tandrio, the Choir Director, as well as the senior trainers. Therefore, all of their efforts deserve our deepest gratitude.
Furthermore, this concert would not be held without the supports of the fellow friends, donators, and participating sponsors. For this, we would like to thank them from our deepest heart.

JAKARTA CHILDREN & YOUTH CHORUS (JCYC) is one of the children and youth choral activities independently managed by JAKARTA CHORAL SOCIETY (JCS) since April 2005, under the guidance of RIZAL A. TANDRIO, one Indonesia’s most talented young conductors, having a reputation in children and youth choirs with experiences extending to vari-ous choral competitions, at national and international levels. JCYC consists of a group of students coming from various primary schools, junior and senior high schools in Jakarta and nearby areas, forged as an arena for those having talent in vocal and great interest to gain the chance to sing in a choral group. JCYC is also a training group for students with talents in vocal to be good singers or choir masters.
The JCYC activities cover regular practices, services, and concerts every semester, tour-concerts, national and international competitions, record-ings, joint recreations, public performances, such as those in malls and cafes, product launchings as well as apartment soft launchings, etc.
It is desired the existence of JCYC would add to the diversity of the quality children and youth choirs in Indonesia.

ALOYSIUS ABEL HURAY, pianist
Abel, born in Jakarta, October 13th, 1997, began to learn piano at the age of 5 and has been a student at “Sekolah Musik Relasi” level JAC-1 and Master Class at Indonesian Yamaha Music, while still taking pi-ano lessons to Ms. Julina Jaya.
Abel joined PSAK KKN in 2004, and has been a pi-anist since 2005. With PSAK KKN, Abel performed in KKN concerts “Feel The Spirit” in 2005.

MONIQUE MONICA VINA, conductor
Well known as Vina, born in Jakarta, June 18, 1984. Began her music career by joining her school choir in primary school. Vina’s affection to choir encour-aged her to join the Holy Family of Nazaret Catholic Choir (known as PSK KKN / the Catholic choir of “Keluarga Kudus Nazaret”), St. Thomas the Apostle Church (Paroki Rasul Santo Thomas), Bojong Indah, Jakarta, in 1997. Vina made a move and grew with PSK KKN by joining various nationwide and over-seas competitions. In 2004, with Rodyanta Suryath-yo, Vina co-founded the Children Choir of The Holy
Family of Nazaret Choir (known as PSAK KKN) in Sathora church. Since then, Vina has been the choir master.
RODYANTA SURYATHYO, conductor
Rodyanta Suryathyo (Rody), born in Jakarta, Sep-tember 16th, 1967, began his musical exploration since high school autonomously. His experience as a choir master began at high school, going through the university level. Initiating the beginning of the Holy Family of Nazaret Catholic Choir (known as PSK KKN / the Catholic choir of “Keluarga Kudus Nazaret”) at St. Thomas Rasul, Bojong Indah-Jakarta in 1989, Rody successfully took the PSK KKN to various church and public festivals.
Once joining St. Caecilia Choir, Cathedral-Jakarta in 1989, Rody was in the special team in 1996-2006. In 2004 till now, Rody was assisted by the members of PSK KKN to lead the Children Choir of KKN as well as being the ‘Sky Lark’ profane choir master. Now, Rody is a manager at PT BRANTA MULIA, Tbk. in his daily activities.

HOLY FAMILY of NAZARET CHILDREN CHOIR, profile (known as “PADUAN SUARA ANAK KATOLIK KELUARGA KUDUS NAZARET / PSAK KKN”)
PSAK KKN, established on April 17, 2004, is one of the places to guide the children in St. Thomas the Apostle Church (Paroki Rasul Santo Thomas), Bojong Indah.
In the young age of two, PSAK KKN has performed in the church or outside the church, such as regular services in the weekly church services, the performance in the 50th Anniversary of PT BRANTA MULIA Tbk, in JHCC (Jakarta Hilton Convention Center) attended by vari-
ous Indonesian artists, performing with their senior choir, PSK KKN in the “FEEL THE SPIRIT” Concert in October 2005 in Bidakara, Jakarta as well as performing in Christmas Programme Peace in Heart, Peace on Earth (known as “Damai Di hati Damai Di Bumi” in SCTV in December 2006.
With its vision, PSAK KKN has grown the affection of the kids in Christ through choral songs and achievements, and PSAK KKN has kept attempt-ing to grow and provide better services.

KETAPANG CHILDREN CHOIR, profi le (known as “KCC”)
Founded in 2000 by YPK Ketapang, KCC is under the auspices of Ketapang Christian School. KCC’s mission is to improve chil-dren’s vocal capability and to function as a place of children’s service towards God’s glory. KCC regularly serves at Ketapang Christ Church.
As for the achievements, KCC successfully became the 1st Winner in JA-BOTABEK’s Children Choir Competition held by YAMUGER in 2003, 3rd Winner in the TMII Children Choir Festival in 2006.
KCC is trained and led by Boy Natanael Naffi , choir master and conductor, who actively holds and joins various concerts.
In March 2007, collaborating with Bandung Choral Society, KCC held a joint-concert with South Korean’s Onnuri Serafi m Children Choir.

BOY NATANAEL NAFFI, conductor
Born in Jakarta on December 26th, 1977, Boy Natanael Naffi began his formal musical education in 1996 at the Ja-karta Academy of Theology (STT), by taking the church music, majoring in conducting, under the guidance of Ms. Michelle Hetharia, and taking an elective major, i.e. vocal, under the guidance of Ms. Catharina W. Leimena.
After graduation, Boy actively taught at Sekolah Pel-ita Harapan Bukit Sentul (1999-2002). Then, Boy
taught at Sekolah Tirta Marta BPK PENABUR Children Choir (2001-2004), winning 2003 National Children Choir Competition (held by BPK PEN-ABUR), and some others.
Boy once taught at SMAN 34 Jakarta, winning 1st Winner in several com-petitions in Jakarta (2002 - 2005). He took part in the conducting master classes given by international presenters, such as Mr. Jonathan Velasco, Mr. Lee Chong Min, Mr. William Lock, Mr. David Hughes, and Mr. Andre de Quadros, in addition to learning from the Indonesian experts, such as Mr. Ndaru Darsono and Ms. Renata Liem.
Currently, Boy is active as a conductor at several choirs / vocal groups at GKI Pondok Indah, GKI Cinere, Cresendo Choir, Ketapang Children Choir, Cindera Kasih Choir (High Scope TB Simatupang). Furthermore, he ac-tively participates as vocal instructor and choir master in several churches in GKI, HKBP, GPIB, GKJ, GISI, SPEED Plaza, etc. as well as teaching private for vocal class till now.

WIDAYANTI TANIA, pianist
G.I. Widayanti Tania, born in Jakarta on November 13th, 1979, began to learn a piano lesson in a private course given by Ms. Lynn.
Then, she proceeded her further practice formally in Murni Music Centre for vocal class at the age of 15. After graduating from high school, Tania proceeded to her musical education at the Singapore Bible College (SBC) School of Church Music, majoring in piano under the guidance of Ms. Lan-ny Yap and in vocal under the guidance of Madame Ju.
Tania held her fi rst piano recital at SBC Recital Hall Singapore. Now she is a piano lecturer at Cantata Institute of Art.

RIZAL A. TANDRIO, choir director
Rizal A. Tandrio is one of Indonesian young talented conductors, having the reputation as children and youth choir master with experiences in various na-tional and the international choral competitions. Rizal’s top international choir achievements were those done by his trained choir with the honour of “GOLDEN DIPLOMA” and “SILVER MEDAL” in cate-gories YOUTH CHOIR of EQUAL VOICES and FOLK-LORE WITH INSTRUMENTAL ACCOMPANIMENT, respectively, in the 3rd 2004 CHOIR OLYMPICS in
Bremen, Germany.
Meanwhile, Rizal’s top national choir achievements were those done by his trained choir with the honour of 1st WINNER and GOLDEN DIPLOMA in three years in a row 2002, 2004, and 2006 in Indonesia’s most pres-tigious biennial Choir Festival held by Bandung Institute of Technology (FPS-ITB).
Furthermore, Rizal successfully escorted his choir as the SECOND INDONE-SIAN CHOIR, successfully taking home the FPS-ITB AWARD CUP from the ITB RECTOR to be the property of the choir.
Currently, Rizal’s activities in the Indonesian choirs are as the moderator of the Indonesian Choral Lovers mailing list and the Director of the Jakarta Choral Society, and conductors in various choirs as well as providing cho-ral workshops and being a jury in several Indonesian choir competitions.

TEGUH SANTOSO (‘SIR’ Teguh), English translator here
Born in Malang on May 13, 1969, Teguh is often called “Sir” Teguh as he teaches English. He gained his musicality from piano practice with a Dutch lady in Malang and had another in Jakarta. Singing is his hobby, once winning an award for local Karaoke contest and joined the CAVIDO choir in St. Yohanes Penginjil Church (Blok B) for 10 years, and Studio Cantorum Bandung since 2006, while completing his master degree in Indonesia University of Educa-tion (UPI).
In terms of achievements, with God’s willing, SIR won two ASEAN Awards (the Virtual Forum for Language Teachers) from SEAMEO RELC Singapore presented in April 2002 and November 2003. Previously, he won some Awards in writing competitions at both the National and Jakarta levels of BPK PENABUR in 2000 and 2002 as well as becoming the 1st Winner in 2001 Regional Offi ce of MOE’s Competence Competition for Senior High in Jakarta.

PAULUS CHANDRA, music director
Formal Education : Undergraduate of Engineering Dept. Atma Jaya Catholic University, Jakarta. Pau-lus’ musical background was gained from practising organ in “Yayasan Pusat Pendidikan Musik (YPPM)” since 1989, then learning to play church organ from Mr. Kurniawan of the St. Maria de Fatima church, and his ability was developed to other musical instruments, such as piano, guitar and electone.
Paulus’ techniques for choral practice and conduct-ing were gained from Mr. Joseph Kristanto Pantio-
so during Paulus’ stay in the Gita Swara Jaya Choir (PSGSJ) of the Unika Atma Jaya Catholic University, Jakarta. Paulus went with PSGSJ to various competitions and festivals and held a number of concerts. Paulus’ further progress was obtained from a number of seminars and master classes for vocal, conducting and basic composition.
Currently, Paulus is active as the musical director of Jakarta Choral Society, trainer, conductor and pianist of several churches’ choir, vocal groups and institutions in Jakarta. 27
PRAJNA INDRAWATI, pianist
Born in Jakarta, July 31st, 1983. Began practising piano at the age of 4 with Ms. Juuke R Widjojo. In 1989, Prajna took a piano course in the Jakarta Mu-sical Foundation (Yayasan Musik Jakarta), still un-der the guidance of Ms. Juuke, till completing her Pre-Conservatory 3 and Teaching Certificate under the guidance of Mr. Oerip S. Santoso. Then, Prajna completed her pedagogy lessons under the guid-ance of Ms. Latifa Kodijat.
In 2005, Prajna passed the ABRSM grade 8 with Distinction, and is currently active as the pianist of the Bina Nusantara University Student Choir (PARAMABIRA) led by Mr. Rainier Revireino. In May 2006, she joined the High Scorer Concert held by ABRSM.
