Using the internet

Bad

Along with all the good stuff, there is also a lot of bad and inaccurate information on the internet.

Finding images on Google image search often brings up images that fans have made, not the real thing!

Using websites like Ask.com or Yahoo answers is very risky!

Getting all your information from Wikipedia is boring! Its ok for the facts, but what if you want to know more!?

Using the internetGood

There is information about almost every Artist, Art movement, painting, drawing, design, sculpture – famous artists, amateur artists – there has never been such amazing access to Art!

Other resources that can help artists – for example images of animals, buildings, landscapes etc

As more information gets put online, resources get even better – now we can even walk around art galleries and museums!

https://www.google.com/culturalinstitute/project/art-

projectA thousand years ago, most people never saw an image. People who lived in a town might have seen art in their local church or temple but only the very wealthy could own images.

In the sixteenth century, Henry VIII sent the painter Hans Holbein across the channel so he could see what a woman he was considering for marriage looked like.

The Google Art Project attempts to provide more access to Museums and works of Art.The Google Art Project is an initiative to provide thousands of high quality, high resolution images from museums across the globe in one place, making art’s history, meaning and beauty available in ways never possible before.

Type ‘Starry Night’ into the search bar. Zoom in! what do you see?
