FRONT COVER

There is a extremely noticeable difference between the two magazines but surprisingly, there are also similarities. Through my preliminary task, I learned the spacing is vital, due to the order of the way the readers view the headlines, skyline and so on. I found that eye contact on a front cover is extremely important as it attracts the readers and makes them feel involved which my preliminary did not do. I have also learned the colour scheme is one of the most vital conventions of a magazine, it is important to have a connection between the font colour and the background in order to make texts noticeable and readable too.

I believe my contents page on my preliminary preliminary is not up to standard for any sort of magazine, there is terrible spacing, appalling colour scheme and also it very much looks unfinished! I took this into consideration and ensured that the colour scheme is in fit with the background and made sure that the spacing between normal content and features was noticeable.

Unfortunately, I never produced a DPS for my preliminary due to lack of research, I was unsure of the conventions of a double page spread on a school magazine, this caused me to spend a lot of time researching into different Double page spreads for Hip Hop magazines and this allowed it to be successful.
